A person whose gender was not released was in the water in Elliot Bay in Seattle Washington on Monday morning near Alaskan Way when the person who was in the water when the Seattle Police Harbor Patrol heard the cries for help.
The person who needed to be rescued was holding on to a pylon near the pier when two rescue swimmers came to save the person from possibly drowning.
The person who was rescued by the police officers was taken by an ambulance to Harborview Medical Center for injuries that happened while the swimmer was in the water.
The condition of the swimmer is not known at this time and hopefully the swimmer who was rescued will make a speedy recovery.

Again it's all in the timing. What if he hadn't happened to be there?

Most likely the swimmer might have drowned.
