Socializing With The Neighbors Today

I think there are 11 of us who live on this street.
Every month we get together and meet for lunch in a local restaurant and also to celebrate the people who have birthdays that month.
I haven't been all year due to traveling, mother-in-law, illness, etc. I am finally going to join the group today.
The two people that I don't really care as much for aren't going to be there. Yay!

I wish our neighborhood would do something like that. There used to be potlucks every year at the annual meeting but they don't even do that now. The fun place to live is across the lake from me. That community has events all the time at least every month. Why did I get stuck in such a stick in the mud place?

We only know the older couple on one side of us and the new people who just moved in on the other side of us. We just aren't interested in socializing.
