I admit that I am a night owl. I have said that several times in my posts on here, so it is no news to anyone really It is 4am and I am still wide awake. I have been watching TV and also been doing some cooking , yet , still I am not tired. Do you have any ideas, methods, for me to get to sleep. Nothing I have tried has worked yet. What do you do when you really should be asleep yet can't fall asleep ?

I'm the same way honestly, once I'm up past a certain hour my brain just refuses to shut off. Putting the phone and tv away for a bit and just laying in the dark sometimes tricks my body into it. Hope you get some rest soon, being wired at 4am is rough.

I am in the same boat . Fell asleep around 5am and woke up at 11am . I feel whenever I take a nap during the daytime it becomes really hard for me to fall asleep at night

I just don't force myself at all. I would usually just watch tv or read a book until sleep catches up on me.

I have never had any trouble sleeping. Do something and when you feel tired go to sleep.

When I can't stop my mind from working and keeping me awake, I lay down, close my eyes and think of the color black. With nothing to keep me awake, I soon fall asleep. Every time something comes into your mind, just think of the color black. Eventually your mind gets tired of fighting and you'll fall asleep. I had to do that a lot of the time when I was working and something upset me.

That’s so funny that you’re going to need when I’m getting up

I’ve been up since 2:40am, and at 4:40am, I’m still awake. I was hoping to go back to sleep, but I’m not sure if I can. I’ll certainly try, but I have another doctor’s appointment this morning so at least I’ll be ready for that. Sometimes reading helps me sleep, or I pray, and fall asleep doing that. Hopefully, you caught a few Zzzs.

I guess none of what I've said so far has really answered your question though. What happens if you actually go to bed at a 'normal' time?

I don't have trouble falling asleep when I go to bed but then I often wake in the early hours and can't sleep again. I try all the usual things - go to the loo in case that's keeping me awake, sometimes have a glass of milk or a banana because both contain nutrients that can help promote sleep. Sometimes I'm too hot, even though I don't feel really hot but just a bit warm, and I find that if I get up and walk about a bit until I've cooled down then get back into bed, what was uncomfortably warm before now just feels cosy and I go back to sleep...

Do you feel tired in the end? I go through phases when I have trouble sleeping and after a few days of that I'm exhausted! Last night I slept from 11:30 until 6am and that was pretty good although I'm still tired. The night before I slept from 11:30 until about 2am, then I just woke up for no apparent reason and could not get back to sleep, so after a while of lying around getting annoyed I got my laptop, sat up and did some work until 4:30 am. Then I felt sleepy so I did sleep soon after that and all too soon it was 6:45 and time to get up.
