Me and sugar have super powers. Or is it sugar and I??
Last week well meaning friend brought us soup for lunch. The soup was simple: blended sweet potato, white potato, peas and vegie broth. She also brought some sour cream to put on the soup but took that away when she left.
Hubby said the soup was too thin and blah. I boiled some brown rice then slurped in some of the soup for nourishment. Good enough supper.
Yesterday I grated carrots and made a quick bread- cup of sugar in the loaf. The recipe called for quite a bit of oil. I subbed in mostly the blah soup. Very little oil. I also added cran raisins. The bread turned out tasty and now there is very little dull as dishwater soup left.

If you have any Ranch dressing sitting in your fridge, that always goes well with veggie soup. (I cook it into the soup, though.)
You could use the soup you have left as started for another batch of soup. We always try to do that when most or all of the veggies are gone from soup Pretty or I made. (Of course, we always add meat to ours but you might not like that.)

@sallypup You're very welcome. If you have some homemade bread, I always love dipping warm bread in soups, too.

@DaddyEvil Good on those staples. I hope it doesn't hurt too much.

@DaddyEvil Thanks for the great ideas. I haven't had tasty Ranch dressing in years. Hubby would have a cow!!!!! if I added cow to our meals.
