Weird love of cemeteries

One of my favorite things to do that is somewhat odd and makes people question my sanity and what I do for fun, is to go to cemeteries and look at headstones. I like to sometimes randomly look up names especially older ones and see what their lives were like if I can find anything on them. Some of them lived incredibly interesting lives. I also like seeing all of the different names. One of my favorite day trips we took was to Cleveland, where we got to check out the Lakeview Cemetery. It is a huge cemetery with some notable people buried there, including former president who died in office James Garfield. He isn't buried there, but he is in a huge mausoleum there. You can actually see his casket. If you climb the stairs, you get a great view of the Cleveland skyline. My husband and son thought I was crazy for wanting to check out a cemetery, but they also had fun. We put a dime on Rockefeller's headstone. We checked out the Wade Chapel. We learned a lot. I researched so much for that trip. I think my love of cemeteries has more to do with history than anything else. I'm not into ghost hunting. I'm a firm believer in leaving some things alone. I just love learning about people and their lives. I love how old and interesting some of the headstones are. I love how peaceful cemeteries usually are. I say usually because there are times people make a menaces of themselves. We recently had an incident in a town near where I grew up that I used to go to a lot as a kid, where adults took their kids to fight in a cemetery and then encouraged it and helped them. One of the parents hit one of the kids with their car on the way out. I don't remember all of the information, but it was completely insane. The parents are in trouble now, as they should be. I can't believe how terrible a parent you have to be to do something that stupid. Anyway, I digress (that was the ADHD getting a hold of me). Usually, cemeteries are peaceful and a great place to read names and learn about people, and I really enjoy that aspect of it.
