Dehydrating pears ….will I get a chewy snack ?

I have had great success with dehydrating tomatoes and courgettes and I have a mountain of pears at the moment.
I was going to use them for crumbles but then it was suggested that I dehydrate them.
Apparently they are delicious.
Well , I have decided to give it a go.
The pears were washed and cored then sliced and then into the air fryer they did go.
I have put them on for 4 hours to start off with ….i will judge it again when that time is up.
What would you do with a big bag of pears ?

We had a friend give us a ton of pears last summer. Daughter and I made pear jam that's delicious, and canned some cut up pears to have, too. Dehydrated fruit is delicious for a snack, it will be good.

We had a pear tree in the orchard on the farm and Mum would always bottle (can) at least a few dozen each year.

@Shivram59 a pear is a fruit. It grows on a tree. You can eat them raw or cooked.

I really wouldn't have thought about dehydrating them so I'll be waiting to hear how they come out. Usually I just eat pears or maybe put them sliced on top of cottage cheese.

@Marilynda. No, I wouldn’t have thought about it either but from the ones I’ve seen fond online they will be yummy. It was also suggested sprinkling them with cinnamon sugar too. I’ve done the first lot plain but I might try the cinnamon sugar ones later.

@LooeyVille …..that made me laugh.
I love pears but rarely buy them ….goodness knows why ! These were part of a really cheap offer I had. That’s why I have so many.

@Wrexxo. Yes, there are only so many crumbles that you can eat. I’m hoping these dehydrated ones will be okay ….i will post about it….they have several more hours to go yet ….

I have poached pears and filled the centres with butter, brown sugar and curry powder. They're pretty nice.
