What's your favourite Winter breakfast? I love a good big bowl of hot thick sweetish porridge oats made up in the microwave oven with semi skimmed milk The spoon must stand up in the bowl by itself What's your favourite winter breakfast?

@Ineeddentures I wonder if I should go on a quest for real Scottish porridge. World Market would likely have it, or possibly Amazon US.

@snowy22315 You should go on a quest and get some real Scottish porridge oats. Is there not a Scottish shop anywhere near you

Never ate that before I don't really eat different foods based on the season. These days it's bacon and eggs

You know there's no winter here but we could have a cold morning especially by the end of December until January. And I love having chicken macaroni soup for breakfast.

My breakfast selection is more or less the same through the year. A croissant, or toasted bread with butter and jam, sometimes home made waffles with maple syrup. I cannot eat oat, I suffer of irritable bowel syndrome, I have to avoid several ingredients, oat is one.

@Ineeddentures - If I avoid the food that I know is bad for me, I am fine. I wonder why I not always stick on my rules.

California does not have a winter its just cooler and I get when its cold people burn colories by just being cold, so you need a high calorie diet,

@Ineeddentures Yeah and why people get crazy when you guys get a heat wave, They have no AC, never needed it and why its scary for them. People so disillusioned here on being hard here, like shut up you do not even step outside because to hot out.

That has been my breakfast preference for years. I have it not so thick. The spoon is not upright in my case

It's nothing like a big bowl of oatmeal on a cold day. It warms the bones.
