I found out why son wasn't interested in that job. He said they wanted him to work 56 hours a week, 6 days a week. Are you kidding me? It sounds like a construction sweatshop. I don't think any American would take that job. I mean with that kind of schedule it doesn't matter how much they pay..that is too much. Now, son used to have well paid coding jobs for a government contractor before he went to Brazil, but nowadays coding has mostly been replaced by AI, and son is discouraged about working in computers because he didn't get hired for some jobs he was really interested in at the time, and is basically down on that kind of employment now, plus he has done nothing to keep up his skillset. He just won't pick a direction and stick with it. Everytime you talk to him he has a new idea. It doesn't lead to much in the way of stability. He likes his job now, but it is physically taxing, and son is kind of a mechanical genius. He can figure out how to do almost any kind of mechanical or electrical task. He could do so much more.

Yes, that is it exactly. Also, he doesn't seem like he has the follow through to get it done. He does his job and comes home and does a lot of work for friend in exchange for the little house he lives in on the property...He likes being free to do what he wants, but it isn't getting him anywhere. I am sure he has the idea though when he has enough money saved he will go back to Brazil. Which means I might need to find a place there too at least half time. Not really interested..but might have to if I want to see him on a regular basis.

@AmbiePam I have accepted that he will or somewhere else far away. I just hope it isn't for awhile though. It would be nice if he would meet a woman and settle down. However, he isn't pursuing that at this time.

I had a job once where I was contracted to work 60 hours a week over 5 days.
I wouldn't work 6 days
No matter how good the pay was

That job certainly is a lot of hours so I'm not surprised your son turned it down. Hopefully he'll find the right job
