I wasn't on here last night because of another family meeting.
After a busy working Thursday, after dinner, had to meet my siblings.
Parents left us with a number of real properties. Some of them we don't use anymore, we don't intend to sell any. Residential properties, commercial properties, and some agricultural land including fish ponds.
An interested company is pursuing us to lease out to them one of our commercial properties. We discussed it and came up with a figure for the lease.
Meeting was done in less than an hour. We really couldn't stand being all tougher in one room.
Do you enjoy family meetings?

Yeah. As a Filipino family, we are expected to be that close to each other. But me and my siblings aren't. Our personalities differ so much.

@toniganzon I'm okay with my siblings especially the oldest one. My middle sister is a different story

Nope. Too many of us don't really see eye-to-eye anymore. It's easier to avoid most of our family.

I haven’t been involved in one since my family doesn’t do business together. What matters most is being able to reach an agreement by the end of the day and acting as one in any family business you’re part of. Personality clashes are something every family deals with, but when it comes to business, you have to work as a team so things run smoothly with customers and suppliers.

Usually when I am around my family, it is a holiday or a social ocassion. I generally like being around them, except when my sister ignores me, or my mom is being nasty to my dad.

At least you have that gathering. We don't even gather on holidays. We would usually just meet when we have to discuss our business and that's all.

I adore my daughter and grandson and we have monthly meetings. They help a lot I think.

Less than an hour is actually a good meeting, I'm glad it went smooth. Family meetings can get tense when property is involved, so I get why you couldn't wait to leave. I don't enjoy them much either, but they feel easier when everyone just wants to settle things quickly.
