Going away

I will be going to Cape Cod with my mom for a week. One of the main things we will do there is mushroom foraging. Since we don’t drive, we are going with my mom’s friend and her husband. They rented a small house so that’s where we’ll stay.
I have to start packing for the trip but I have no idea what to pack or how much of it. Since we are all going in one car space will probably be limited so I have to try and take as less stuff as possible (clothes/shoes), which I don’t like. I’d rather have extra stuff with me and not wear it than not have enough.
As they have done in the past, my mom and her friend decided to take food with them. My mom even cooked some stuff and froze it. I don’t like to eat frozen dinners but I have no choice. I don’t get why we can’t just go out to eat or, if anything, buy food there and cook it. There would be more room in the car if we didn’t take all this food with us.

Maybe they are doing it to save money. But part of being on vacation is going out and trying different foods of whatever place you are visiting. That's part of the fun.

@lovebuglena It’s really hard to say since it’s not MY money, but if one is not hurting for money, and it appears you all are not, then I would totally agree with you on that.

@lovebuglena I've never been to that part of the country before so I don't know how long it would take to get there. I have driven from New York into Pennsylvania but I didn't pay attention when I was taking Pretty to college. It took nine hours to go from our home in Missouri to her college in Pennsylvania. I know that doesn't help, though.

Me too. Not looking forward to the drive. It takes about six hours. Don’t remember if that’s with stops or without.

Thank you. Mushroom foraging is like a casino. Once you find a mushroom you want more and more and it’s hard to stop.

If I tell my mom I am not going she will not be happy. She didn’t go on a cruise because I said I don’t wanna go.
