It’s Open Again

I just got a mass text from by the apartment management announcing the onsite laundry room was once again open after three years of being closed. I have no idea how they are going to manage it. Those same three years ago, a handful of homeless people moved into the woods behind my complex. At night, since they couldn’t get in through the door of the laundry room to sleep, they broke a window. Management fixed the window once, then gave up and put a board over it. Then, over the period of a couple months the homeless people proceeded to break the washing machines (I assume to get the money). Instead of hiring a security guard, they just closed the laundry room. And unless they hired a security guard, I don’t know how they’ll keep it from happening again. They even fixed the window.
As much of a dump as my place is, by looks you wouldn’t think we had homeless people staying in the woods. My place looks decent from the outside; you have to move in to find out the problems they hide.

I haven’t had hot water in twelve years. They kept trying to fix it instead of buying a new water heater. After six times of them coming into my apartment to fix it, and only making a mess, I gave up. So now, I shower in cold water or shower at my dad’s. I prefer my dad’s because the water here also breaks my skin out in a rash.

@JohnRoberts Sure, by law, they are supposed to, but have you ever seen video of someone getting hit so many times they quit getting back up? I’ve been beaten down by this place too many times. The last time I called the inspector about it they told me as long as they were trying to fix it, they were covered. Then, they DID fix it, but it only lasted for one shower.
I called the inspector the other day about an issue, and they never called back. So I wrote a letter, and got no response. They don’t really care.

@AmbiePam Can't you sue? Isn't there government law demanding hot water is a basic living need?

Well, I wish the management best of luck with upkeeping the machines, Hey, I think those nasty homeless people should jump into a washing maching and roll themselves clean,

Hopefully they'll manage it better and that all won't happen again. That does sound awful.

Is it written in the lease that laundry services are on site? Maybe someone complained to the right person.

Just now
Oh I remember those posts of yours about homeless people breaking in and destroying stuff.

I definitely won’t change that now.
