At age 52? Well, my brother does and I cannot understand why he would tell all the children of our relatives and friends to call him "Lolo (grandpa)!" His youngest child is only 15, the eldest one is 20. He is far too young to be a grandfather and he doesn't even look like one! I was surprised when some children ran to him once and greeted him saying Grandpa! He could be called an Uncle...but grandpa?

Exactly! And he's not even a real grandfather either coz his children are still way too young.

Men sure are different than women. Can you imagine women being happy to be called Grandma by various children that weren’t hers in relation?

Never! And the same with men here who still aren't really grandfathers! Because we address old people here as grandma or grandpa, even strangers, as a sign of respect for their age. But we only call them those when they look really old, with graying hair and prominent wrinkles.

Children do not call "Grandpa" relatives here, at most "uncle". My niece called my husband uncle, even if he was not really her uncle, I was her aunt.

I was a grandmother at 42. Most of my friends were grandparents somewhere in ther 40’s. Maybe he just likes kids?

I dont' think so. He doesn't even have a single white hair at all and it's quite odd here. I wouldn't mind if it was his own grandchildren, but from friends and family members? We call all our elderlies here grandma or grandpa even when they are strangers to us. That's just how we address old people.

I'm with you. My brother is strange. Our elder brother who's 56, years old wouldn't want that at all!
