I don't really read myself but hopefully someone will have suggestions.
When I did read, I loved books by Ellen Hopkins, but some of those might be considered depressing

If you want something light and amusing, April has some great ideas. They are all funny.

@AmbiePam Maybe you could look at some biographies or auto biographies..some of them are pretty good. Woody Guthries is, but of course that is sad.

I mostly read fiction or haunted stories books. I have a whole series about Ohio haunted places

If you are looking for something light, the Bridget Jones Diary books are good. So are the Shopaholic Series by Sophie Kinsella. Actually anything by Sophie Kinsella is good.

I usually read Sci-Fi, Fantasy or plain Fiction, so I can't really help you. Sorry.
I could add you to my Kindle "Family" and you could go through all my downloaded ebooks to see if there was anything you wanted to read. I think there's around 5,000 in my library now.

Non-fiction choice would be based on your interests such as history, how to, etc.

I’m not really up-to-date on current authors or books right now so I’m sorry I don’t have any good advice for you
