Where Did They All Go?

A few months ago, we got a box of 12 little toys for the cats among some other things. One by one we gave them out to them and one by one they have nearly all disappeared. They have totally disappeared. They weren't eaten or chewed on until they disintegrated. They aren't in the dishwasher, behind the TV stand, under the bed, in the tub, in any of the closets, or somehow got outside. They are nowhere to be found. I could write a Dr. Seus story. In this instance I think of George Carlin's skit on lost socks. That somewhere there is a large pile of all the socks ever lost. What a huge pile that would be. Is this where all the toys went, to some similar pile?

When my niece and her four rug rats lived with me, they took spoons outside to dig in the dirt or dumped their plates in the trash after they ate and didn't take the silverwear off the plate first. I found out my niece used paper plates and plastic silverwear at her own home but was using my good plates and silverwear while they lived here. I worked nights so was asleep while they were awake and moving around my house.

Under the fridge, under the stove, under a dresser, under the sofa... Anyplace that a cat can be playing with a toy and the toy can slide under far enough the cat can't reach it. I don't know how many times I've fished cat toys out from under heavy stuff for female friends because they couldn't lift the appliances/furniture up enough to look underneath it.

Looked them all over and nothing. It's the weirdest thing.

I was going to suggest under the lounge but you've probably looked there.
