Tell Me What I’m Forgetting

Okay guys, I leave Friday morning for the Dallas airport. We fly out that afternoon, and spend the night in Norfolk, Virginia. Saturday morning we board the boat, and we’ll be on board eight days.
I was going to try to get by with just a carry on, but now I’m not sure if that’s a good idea.
Can you carry a power bank in your purse on a plane? I haven’t flown since 2000, which was before airports got strict on what you can bring. I’m not nervous to fly; I just don’t want anything I have being confiscated.
I’m bringing a Stanley for water when I’m on an excursion, I’ve got all my medication refilled, and my phone has plenty of books loaded. What am I not thinking of that I should?
*My sister got them to meet us with a wheelchair so I don’t have to try to walk through the massive airport.

@AmbiePam What Julia said..United was strict about the amount of liquid taken on the plane..I think they might be TSA rules, but you can probably stick something in your bag.

I wouldn't even know myself, I last flew somewhere in 2012. But sounds like you've done well. Not sure about the powerbank, but I think you could take that on with you.

I’m flying, but I’d still rather drive. My sister and her family are driving, but they can’t fit me in their Prius too. If my dad and his wife were driving they'd take their van and we’d all fit. But my dad insists we fly. I told him if our flights get canceled, there are going to be PROBLEMS.

@AmbiePam oh really? That is interesting. I guess it is understandable. I don't mind flying except trying to make the next flight if it is a multi-stop trip. Sorry they are taking a smaller car so you all can't fit. Hopefully nothing gets cancelled!

I was going to suggest what Juliaacv did. Each airline has its own rules

Please forgive me if I’m telling you things that you already know
Any liquids that you’re going to carry on have to be 3 ounces or less and in a quart size bag. That includes things like lipstick, Chapstick, peanut butter, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, etc.
Don’t fill your Stanley water cup until after you get through security because you can’t take water through security
Power banks must be in your carry-on and are not allowed to be in your checked in bag.
Each airline has its own requirements for the size and weight of carry-on bags and checked in bags go to your airline website to find the ones for your specific flight

@AmbiePam you don’t have to take your medicine out to show it at security so it doesn’t have to be in a quart size bag unless of course you have liquid medicine. In general, you don’t have to take your prescriptions in their original bottles unless it’s a controlled substance and then it will need to be in its original container. My friend takes pictures of her prescription labels with her to be able to identify her pills if someone were to ask.

Yes you can bring a power bank in your purse, just keep it in your carry on and not your checked bag. Empty your Stanley before security and fill it up after, and keep your meds in the original bottles. Have a great trip, eight days on a boat sounds so nice.
