I love cheeseburgers and mac & cheese so when I saw this Lean Cuisine frozen meal I bought it.
I like to keep a few of these frozen type meals (Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice, Smart Ones) for lunch options when I don't have something else in mind, don't have time to decide and need something quick, etc.
Yesterday I tried the cheeseburger mac & cheese but it left a lot to be desired. The portion was really small, more elbow macaroni and a decent amount of cheese but I had to hunt to find the burger bits.
Disappointed and won't buy it again.
Have you ever bought something that looked good on the package but left a lot to be desired when you tried it?

I understand your dismay but from what I have read most ready made meals have cut way back on the amount of meat they put in their products due to cost. It’s a sad thing.

Yes. It appears all tasty in the photo then tastes like the cardboard packaging.

@Marilynda1225 I just thought of an example. The pizza picture looks so good that you get suckered into trying it and it's cardboard pizza!

@JohnRoberts all in the marketing and we fall into the trap. They always said we eat with our eyes first so if it looks good we expect it to taste as good

I try to read labels and look for protein, calories and sodium. Guess im going to have to find better options as these are going downhill and the prices are going up.

Just now
@Marilynda1225 I’ve had quite a few Better Goods, and I didn’t find a bad one.

I love the Dolly beef pot roast but haven't tried any of the others. Didn't think to look for Bettergoods

It's been decades but I remember trying one of those frozen pizzas once, it was very disappointing and won't buy stuff like that again. As for frozen dinners, I think I bought one back in the 1980s but I don't remember if I did or didn't like it, I only remember I was hungry and I suppose that hit the spot at the time.

I wouldn't think of buying them now but back then I was working and of course you know when one is working time can be scarce @Marilynda1225

Those frozen meals are quick and easy but certainly not a healthy option for eating them frequently

I know exactly what you mean. I’ve fallen for that before too, where the picture makes it look way better than the actual thing ends up being. Around where I live, I don’t even see a lot of these frozen meals in the first place, so when I do try something like that I’m usually disappointed by how small the portion is or how the taste doesn’t match the package. It’s frustrating when you’re expecting one thing and get something pretty underwhelming instead. Do you usually give those frozen meals another chance, or do you pretty much write them off once they disappoint you?

I pretty much write them off if I don't like them the first time. No sense wasting money

That is such a sad story.
I used to keep those quick little meals on hand for times when I was in a hurry but what disappointed me was the sodium content.
I bought a big canister of M&M's on the weekend, and had no idea how big it really was. I wish that it stated the equivalent to XXX regular sized servings. These will last forever.

I have discovered the Great value from Walmart has good mac and cheese, I buy the boxes and then I make up the mac and cheese and usually add soemthing extra like smoked sausage, or ground Italian sausage, at time tuna and so one then put it all together and add shredded Cheddar and put in my toaster oven until the top cheese melts and it is always very good,

I make my own, cause I like my mac & cheese to be creamy
I cook my hamburger meat in olive oil so it's not too greasy &
then I mix it all together & OH-MY-LANTA ! ! ! I'm in heaven.
