Enough is enough!!
The photo above was taken of my front yard back on July 18. Normally we don't get that much rain and usually by mid July we're back to hot and dry, that didn't happen this year.
This has been one harrowing El Niño. The pacific is usually not this active but when it gets active it seems to affect all of us here in southwestern USA. This year has been the worst I've seen in decades.
I have to wonder if next year will be as bad, winter isn't upon us yet but hopefully it won't be too bad for those of you in areas that normally gets a lot of snow as I've heard that it's possible you won't get that much this coming winter. Is that good or bad?
I just thought I would share this weather video of hurricane activity in the Americas in case you haven't had a chance to see it.

El Nino is supposed to hit here hard this winter. But everyone complains about drought coast to coast so rain should be welcomed.

The problem with rain in my area is that it just sits on top of the soil for a while, the clay here doesn't soak it up the way sandy areas do.
I've seen on the news what some of those hurricanes have done to the western coastline, doesn't it affect you as well?

That sounds rough, we got way more rain this year too and it never seemed to stop. Less snow sounds nice at first but it can mean dry summers and less water later, so I'm not sure it's really good. Hope things calm down for you soon and the yard dries out.

It's rough only because deserts aren't equiped for lots of rain.
You've made a really good point, sometimes it's the snow that keeps things healthy for spring and summer.
Thank you, it's beginning to get drier but with Hurricane Trudy threatening the west coast of Mexico it could mean it'll push more rain my way.
Looking on the bright side, my yard is greener with all kinds of plants now. Some of those I'm cutting down but some are showing some really pretty tiny flowers which makes me happy.

This El Nino has been a real pain in the behind. We had a horrible summer. Fall is warmer than it should be but is starting to cool down. I just hope we don't have any ice stoorms this winter.

It has been both very hot and humid here since mid July, the humidity is unusual for my desert area and then in August and September we got lots of rain, that too is unusual. Normally we usually get rain between the end of June and mid July.
