Today’s Appointment With The Nutritionist Was a Joke

As you know I am trying to learn how to eat better and be healthier
My health insurance coverage covers me meeting with a nutritionist. I had a video virtual visit with him today. It was supposed to be a 30 minute visit, but it was only a 15 minute visit.
It was a complete and utter waste of time. He was ridiculous. He didn’t sound like he knew what he was talking about and he gave me bad advice and he had no plan of action for talking with me today..
I shared with him that there are very few foods that I actually like and that I have a chocolate addiction and then I was struggling with finding things to eat because of my various food allergies.
Do you wanna guess what his advice was? He told me to just drink protein shakes and not eat food anymore.
Seriously? Every dieter in the world has heard that you’re not supposed to drink your calories, but instead eat nutrient dense Whole Foods..
Clearly, I’m not going to ever talk to this man again, but that was ridiculous. Even I knew that his advice was wrong.
He didn’t give me any resources, tell me to eat a variety of foods like fruits and vegetables, give me a range of how many calories carbs or protein he thought I should eat each day or anything. He was a complete joke.

Loo, if I were you I would talk to your primary doctor. No physician is going to recommend a steady diet of protein drinks, good grief. Tell your doctor about this clown and ask for help. The person you talked to is not living in the real world.

@LooeyVille The insurance company probably looked for the cheapest provider. Everybody is trying to save a buck these days.

Sounds like you know better what's best for you than this so called expert.

That really does sound absurd that he would suggest protein drinks instead of "real" foods. Can you switch to someone else that might really know what they're talking about?

That’s dreadful…..can you put in a complaint about him.
Lordy, you have come so far since all the protein bar days and then he tells you to have protein shakes ….not real food.
The man is a disgrace quite frankly.
