I had the silliest thing happen last night, well technically it was probably early this morning, but still dark out. I head a noise like something loudly blowing air out of their nose. or huffing. Anyway, my window was open to the outside, and it always scares me a little bit to do it, because I do hear animals fairly often..90 percent are deer or raccoons, but I have heard a bobcat before. The only thing I would be afraid of really would be a bear..and I do have a tree outside the window..but it has no lower branches and it would be hard but probably not impossible for a bear to jump in the window. Very unlikely, but a hungry bear might do just about anything. So, after hearing the noise I jumped up and shut the window. I was thinking maybe I dreamed it or something...had a weird kind of hallucination or whatever, but then I realized that I made that noise, because my nose was a bit stuffy.

that's so funny that you made the noise and thought it was coming from outside. I'd be leery of having the window open too, though, especially with the wildlife you have there.2 people like this

There is a screen in the window of course. It would be one very determined animal that would jump through the screen, as the window is about 15 feel up from the ground anyway. I did have a squirrel hit the window one time, which was closed but Nico was johnny on the spot, and hit the window at the same time.

@snowy22315 guess i forgot about the screen in the window. Guess im all into scary Halloween stuff and had a ridiculous image in my mind of some wild animal jumping through your window

Wow, you have bobcats in the areas? Aren't they rare?

No, bobcats are fairly common in the East. Even though mountain lions are supposedly extinct here..we have some of those too..but they seem to be passing through rather than actually living here as far as I know or can tell, they will be here though as have documented presences in nearby states.

I've done something similar, waking myself up through snoring. I bet you were glad once you worked out what it was.
