Restless legs

I had heard of it before but didn't experience it until August. I was on my spa vacation and just couldn't stop moving my legs because they (and my feet) hurt so much. I was up until like midnight talking to my roommate and then I just gave up and went to the nurse station.
I told them that I was in extreme pain and couldn't get my legs to settle down. They knew me well enough to know that I never asked for extra medication and I didn't exaggerate about things. The nurse said the best she could do was give me Flexeril (muscle relaxer) and ropinerole (for restless legs). I was so desperate I was like YUP.
The meds worked within half an hour and then I was off to sleep. I have scripts for them now though I rarely have to use them. A couple of days ago I woke up at like 2am with restless legs but I wasn't about to take those meds when I had to wake up and be functional in 3 hours.
I'm glad that this isn't something that happens to me every night. That would be misery. I'm also glad that there is a combo of medications that can deal with it when it happens.

When my son was in the accident, he had several surgeries back to back. One was spinal surgery and it helped his spine but he had a really messed up back and the doctors warned him that it would help, but it wouldn’t ever be like it was before. He now has terrible restless leg syndrome. He does take medication for it daily but he hates that he has it. He can just be sitting, not even standing, and it kicks in sometimes. Not fun, I’m sorry you have that.

Ugh restless legs sounds miserable, I can't imagine being up that late just trying to get them to calm down. Good thing the nurse knew you well enough to take you seriously. Glad it doesn't happen every night and that you have something that works when it does.
