Yikes, major oversight last night

So, I lit a candle last night. I was actually thinking about lighting a few, but it ended up just being the one. It is supposed to be apple crisp scented, but I didn't small anything. Anyway, The candles was across from where I was sitting, and not that close to me. When I got up this AM early in the AM, I noticed the candle was still burning... I would never do that on purpose. I know sometimes people do leave candles lit, if they are designed for that like a candle of remembrance or something, but I would never just leave your average candle burning. It was in its own container..and probably wouldn't burn out and catch anything on fire, but still..have you had any oversights where you thought..how could I do that?

Same as you, I would never let a candle burning during the night. I hope it was protected inside a glass container at least.

@snowy22315 - That is good, at least there was not the risk to start a fire.

@LadyDuck Yes, unless Nico got rambunctious and knocked it down.

Oh man, I've done that too and it freaks me out every time. At least it was in a container, but yeah that little scare stays with you. I once left the stove on after leaving the kitchen and wondered how I even did that.

I have left them burning before too. Thankfully my house cats don't have tails to stick in them

That would have been a disaster if Nico knocked it down.

I did that once when I lived in my other house. I loved lighting candles in my bedroom when I would be getting ready for work. This one day I came home from work in the evening and found the candle in my bedroom still lit. From that day on I never lit another candle in my bedroom. It was pretty scary to think I could have had a disaster Good thing your candle didn't cause any problems.

Yikes, now that would be really scary.I don't usually light candles in the bedroom. It would be too easy to fall asleep with one burning.

Yeah, I wasn't too happy. At least it was in a metal can.

I unfortunately have done that a few times and it scared me as well. If happened fairly recently and no harm done. I think being in a glass jar all the ones I would use probably wouldn’t cause any problem but you never know so I prefer to blow them out.
