I was waiting to go into dinner, when an older lady in a wheelchair complimented the flamingo pants I was wearing. She said she loved flamingoes so much she brought her puppet flamingo on board her cruises and did a little performance. It was then I realized I had gotten a picture of her the night prior, holding court with her flamingo puppet on strings. We talked about our love of the big bird, and she told me how she grew up around flamingoes and parakeets. It was such a joy to speak with her. Puppets, yay or nay?

I grew up around puppets. Our church had a puppet ministry, and the kids and teens would perform at church all the time. It was so fun! Of course, ours were hand puppets, more simple than what this lady here did, but just a blast.
