We are taking away bathtubs. / myLot

Yesterday I received a call from Martín´s parents. They live near my home. Eliana told me that they would not have a shower for a couple of days and if they could come to take a bath at my house 2 times this week. They are taking away the tub from the bathroom and placing a shower there instead. I said "of course" and they will be coming on Tuesday and Thursday morning. I told them that they could have breakfast with me too. I remember how happy I was a few years ago when I replaced the tub for a wonderful shower. Right now, I can hardly take a bath when I go to Dixie´s as they only have a tub. I think that it is not enough after a certain age to have rails to hold to. I just cannot put up my legs high enough so that I can get in. The last time I tried to get into a tub with scented water and nice foam was over 20 years ago. It is clear that I don´t need it. What do you have?

I have a shower/tub combo, but my dad just took out his tub, and has two showers now. He’s not messing around; he doesn’t want to take the chance of him or Diana falling. Quite frankly, I’m afraid of falling too.

I took out the tub and got a wonderful shower. The shower I´ll be getting now is a lot smaller but still big enough.

I have showers in the two bathrooms. My husband was very unhappy, he felt cold all the time and he loved to take a hot bath in a tub.

I have now problems in my legs and knees so entering into a tub is very difficult for me.

I had that all my life until I took out the tub in the main bathroom and got a giant shower.

We have a clawfoot tub upstairs. It's mostly decoration. We re-did the downstairs bathroom and took out a low tub and put a shower in instead. That low tub is now a nice garden planter. I can't safely get into or sit down in a low tub.

Offering breakfast on top of the shower is such a sweet touch... Neighbors like that are clutch, and imo a walk in shower beats a tub after a certain age.
