Three hikers who were stranded in the mountain in the Sierra Nevada range in Northern California were rescued by deputies of the Sierra County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) when the hikers used a satellite communication device to ask for to be rescued on Sunday afternoon.
The SCSO received assistance from the Nevada County Sheriff's Office (NCSO) Search and Rescue Mountain Rescue Team and the helicopter from the Washoe County in Nevada who teamed up with 20 members from the Truckee and Nevada City areas who worked together to rescue the three hikers who were in the steep exposed section of the mountain.
A helicopter rescued the three hikers when a member of the crew hoisted the hikers and took them to a designated landing zone where deputies were waiting for the hikers who are safe and sound thanks to the teamwork of the authorities who rescued them.

I always love hearing stories like this with happy endings. But just wait until those three hikers get the bill for having to be rescued!

@Deepizzaguy Personally, I think it's sad that government agencies (or rescue agencies) often send a bill to those being rescued. But, I guess it depends on the situation. If they did something stupid that caused them to need to be rescued, then they should at least be billed for a portion of the rescue costs. But if it was just bad luck or some other catastrophe outside of their control, I don't think they should be liable to any of the costs.

That must have been a really traumatic experience. I have never hiked that long or have to hike on trails like these because accidents are really unpredictable and God Forbid something happened. Glad the search and rescue were quick to respond.

@Deepizzaguy Maybe they are adrenaline junkies and likes the thrill of the heights but yeah i do agree with you that these activities are extremely dangerous especially if you are not familiar with it's terrain.

Maybe, they were inexperienced, and got into difficulties, as why would experienced hikers need to be rescued.
Maybe, they will think twice about biting off an extreme hike again like that, when they are novices at hiking
