feeling pinched

What a crazy world we live in. The friend who takes me to the pool and has my back also has some depression issues. I could easily slide that way but- my fur kids crazy ways keep me busy so I don't have time to sit around and be weepy.
But winter is coming on in my world. The government is NOT handing out food stamps or food programs like it was. Food banks are feeling the impact- how to feed the hordes? Feed people with what money? One of the answers appears to be: me. I have enough to eat so hey, fork over some cash. We do and plan to continue BUT we can only do so much before we're standing in the bread line.
And fur kids. Fur kid rescues are crying and boo hooing. We try to help there. Can only do so much- we pulled Spider Monk out of the cat bread line.
Just makes me shake my head. I see tons too many mini videos of people on facebook highlighting their potato suppers. At least a few appear to be learning the goodness in lentils and other beans. Maybe fewer people will have clogged arteries now? I hope everyone's day is going well. I'm just feeling overwhelmed as I attempt to clear up the mess of which medical insurance I will have and be able to afford next year. No more advantage plan at my house. Hospital and docs won't accept it.

It’s very concerning. Many simply don’t have enough to eat. How special that you are helping others by giving, I know it’s much appreciated. Somehow, Im not surprised, you have such a warm and loving heart.

I have a teacher friend who told me that more and more children are coming to school very hungry. This morning when I opened the laptop, one of the first things I read was a local plea from our main food pantry, begging for either money to buy foods or non perishable foods, as well as pet food and any personal care products people might be able to donate. I think the needs are everywhere...it's so hard to think of people having no food.
And yes, beans and lentils provide many an inexpensive and good, tasty meal here, too. I think split pea soup will be on my agenda again before long!

It’s funny you mention beans. Before I left for the cruise I had “delved” into the world of beans, and I have continued my trek into the world of legumes. My goal is to just feel full, and it seems to be working so far.
Thank you for contributing to making your community better! You don’t need a thanks, but I still appreciate it.

It is rough and may only get worse in the short terms with the war probably going to kick into high gear after the Midterms.

Then I must keep thanking the Lord for my health and no meds and no diseases and I can continue eating what I can afford,
