I didn't feel I could post much about this for the last few days, but I will attempt an update here.
First and foremost, my son's eye tumor biopsy came back negative for cancer! I know some of you know just how that made us feel--so blessed and happy! I cried....it was such a huge relief!
The current status of his eye and it's future---the tumor is gone. We were informed it is the type of tumor that can return, and yes, if it does the chance of it being cancer will greatly increase. It also appears he has lost quite a bit of vision in his eye. The doctor says it may clear up a bit, but it won't be the vision he had in his eye before the tumor. Yes, he still has meds and appointments and such, along with a swollen eye, and he looks like a prizefighter with the bruising in that area, but the relief we feel of it not being cancerous is beyond wonderful!
I want to thank everyone who followed along on this nerve-wracking journey, messaged, prayed, and encouraged us. It meant a LOT.
Again, many, many thanks!!

He certainly does! But regardless of the scars and the patches, we are thankful he is here with us. Thanks so much.

That is very good news. Will eyeglasses help at all?

He has worn glasses for years. When the decision is made as to how much vision he has retained after healing, he will have to have new glasses.

What a huge relief! So happy that it isn't tumor. I can imagine how it must be waiting for the result.

It was a tumor, it just wasn't cancerous. They removed the tumor. Thank you!

That is wonderful and such a relief.
Don't discount that he could have full eyesight again.
They painted such a picture to my parents upon the removal of the tumor on the back of my optic nerve, but I regained all of my sight within 6 weeks. I was young mind you, a child actually, but the tumor was the size of a grown man's thumb, which is significantly large.
Keep the faith.

I hope he does, I told him what you said and he is hoping his eye goes back to being able to see better than he does now. Thanks so much for telling me this!

The last few years he has had so much...he was involved in a bad accident, and he already had a few health issues. Adding in all the repair surgeries, etc. he has had to have, has been a very long journey. We want to move forward and he wants to be well! Thank you, Michael.
