Sadly the Smothers Brothers only lasted a year and then the people who controled sensorships here in the USA canceled them, they were so very funny.

I'm glad you did. I wish their TV series had not been canceled by the 1960s censors, they controled what we the people were allowed to hear on TV back then. I don't really know who they were just that they could cancel a show if they thought a celeb was using words the public shouldn't hear.

I don't think anyone really caught on until womens lib got their foot in the 'door' because by the 70s a lot of things were changing @AmbiePam Heck, All in the Family stirred up a lot of old timers when it began, Archie hit way too close to home for many of them but he did get the ball rolling as far as censorship was concerned. Ok, I do mean the producers of that show not the character Archie.
