Rest Easy, My Sweet Boy.

Please don’t ask me what happened or what caused it. We’re still waiting to hear back, and this is a really difficult time for me. :’(
Our dog, Dash, became sick over the weekend. We thought it was a simple stomach bug, but he wasn’t improving. We ended up taking him to the emergency vet on Tuesday night. Shortly after midnight, my bestest buddy, who I’ll go as far as to call my soul dog, crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We’re all heartbroken and in shock because everything just progressed so fast. I’m personally trying to wrap my head around it because he was fine a week ago, and now he’s gone.
Dash was such an active, vibrant, mischievous member of the household. Sweet but sassy. My little Sourpatch Kid (“First they’re sour, then they’re sweet,” lol). I swear, he actually tried to talk at times. He loved plushies, squeaky toys, and treats, but not as much as he loved cuddling with people. He was an absolute lap dog who’d protect the household from anyone walking past the window or across the street. He was loyal and always tried to be brave. I always said he thought he was bigger than he really was, because he was actually just a little guy. A little guy with a big heart.
He was the Bart Simpson to my Marge Simpson. He got into trouble, just like Bart, but I loved him with all my heart anyway (just like Marge). I even called him my “Special Little Guy” because that’s what Marge called Bart.
I don’t know what I’m going to do without him. He was always by my side, whether I was on the couch or walking into another room, and now he’s not. I’ve cried the last two nights because he slept in my bed, and now I’m going to bed without him. I don’t hear the pitter-patter of his little feet as he walks towards me to join me on the couch while I relax. I can’t just call him and have him come snuggle.
I thought we had more time. We should’ve had more time. It’s just not fair. I miss him so much. I was there up until the end, and I told him it was time to go be with his Nana (my Mom), as he loved her, too.
Rest easy, my Special Little Guy. When it’s my time, meet me at the Rainbow Bridge for endless cuddles. I love you so much.
(P.S. - If there are any typos, I’ll get them another time. I don’t have the heart to re-read this right now.)

Virtual hugs, and so sorry for your loss. Losing a beloved furry member of the family is the most painful thing to go through,
