Yesterday hubby returned home from the hospital. He is stronger than I thought, I have the rollator just in case.
This week we'll have some important meetings. We may be starting a new phase of having a home health aid come in to help hubby plus a physical therapist. Hubby needs to not sit so much.
Next week a contractor is returning to give me a bid. I doubt I will be able to afford him. BUT I hate to give up on the old shed that sits at the back of my property. I love old houses and sheds and barns. The shed is large enough to house goats! It's almost barn sized. It has so many issues but I love it anyway. The floor boards are wide and thick like railroad ties. Some of its foundation is wonky so contractor would have to jack up that area. I know. Big money. Who has the ability to safely hoist part of a shed?? This kind of stuff fascinates me.

When my dad was hospitalized last year he had a few sessions with a physical therapist after he got home, but not sure any lasting results were achieved. He is hard to pry out of a chair too. Shed project seems interesting..

@sallypup The sessions probably won't be authorized endlessly either especially if progress is minimal.

@snowy22315 Physical therapy is the start of painful work. It's like a diet- hard to keep going.

A home health aide and physical therapist is a good idea. My uncle was only in his fifties when he started having some health issues, and he got help like that, and it made life so much easier at his house. Of course, we had a home health aide for my mom too when she was sick, and she was a life saver too.
That shed sounds amazing. I love old structures, of every kind.

The home health aid would no doubt be a huge help for him, as well as a physical therapist. Often the therapists can give some helpful ideas about getting around safely, getting up and down, etc. And the home health aide can be a huge help with everyday needs. I hope that works out!
As for the shed, yes, if you are serious you may want to get more than one bid. Jacking up floors/buildings is generally big money, unfortunately. I love old buildings, too. I hope somehow it works out for you.

@MarieCoyle Right now the home aid will be what we have for medical. The clinics that I have called for after hospital care have no available appointments. Thank you for your kind wishes.

Actually they found Bob was better able to use a standard walker, rather than a rollator. He stands up straighter. He tries to get out of using it some, but it is a blessing to have. I am glad you can get home help.
