Well i do...in addition to that i would also place estimated price based on the prices on my last shopping for groceries...i also bring my small calculator to limit my spending, and trying to be aware on price tags, discounts and Giveaways(its always given free if you buy something hehehe)! and talking bout budgeting your shopping....i do limit my self to buy only what is need(except if there are special occasions which requires me to buy something other than what i need)how bout you friends have any tips for budget shopping?peace!

I also do that. I always bring a list of the thing i will buy. Im also estamating the price according to my last groceries. I still keep my receipt for my reference of the price. I also make sure and check that the things list in the recipt that I paid in the cashier are all in the grocery bag. Good day!

you are very wise double 07,I made me a list yesterday, i had to go buy groceries...I had a list because i forget stuff if I don't..Do you use coupons? There is a store here where I live that will match your price by up to a dollar, and if I have a dollar coupon,I can get the item pretty cheap..but i don't buy there much because its the only store in town and they are a rip off...I usually always go to the city to buy groceries, either at HEB or Walmart...Now days with everything so expensive you gotta be careful with your money...I always take a pen and scrath off the list everything I buy...

If you notice sometime the store brands are really just as good.I really like HEB's store brand so it also saves to buy the store brands ,they are always a little cheaper...I don't do it on some items though.I will not use anything but Hellmans mayonaise hee hee

as much as i can, i stick to what i list before going shopping. but most of the time, i always end up buying something not on the list and almos always exceed my budget. it is pretty hard to stick to it. when i see something on sale, i end up buying it even if it is not in the list. when i see something that i like, i end up buying it. i also end up buying toys for my son even if its not on the list but i see that its a great toy. sometimes i buy it even without seeing the price tag first and you can imagine my shock when i get to the cashier to pay for the items i bought. sometimes, i think that i should only bring enough money to buy what is on the list so that i wont get tempted to buy anything else.

Yes, I always make a list, and the aproximate cost of the items I need. It helps me to keep in budget, and because I am usually with at least 2 of my kids, helps me to remember what I need. I remember the first time I went shopping with my husband, he did not think we needed a list. Our bill was over 200 dollars and did not even include any of the meats. He is a hopeless spender, who hardly never looks at prices, so making a price next to the item, helps him know how much to spend as well.

Yep I make a list. I usually go through the sale circulars and my coupons too in the process. I always end up buying a few things that weren't on my list if I don't take the time to do the sale circulars and coupons. I will admit though that I don't have a set food budget.

since i usually forget things, i always bring in a list with me. and when my mom needs me to buy something for her, she prepares a list for me. she knows i always forget things. and my mobile phone also serves to be my calculator. just like you, i try to estimate everything. discounts and giveaways are great! but i don't usually buy them especially if it's a low quality brand. as for a tip, it's always better to shop when it's not rush hour so i can concentrate more on budgetting without much people around and no much rush for me as well.

You are a very smart, prepared shopper. I am afraid I don't do so well. I usually forget to make a list and often forget what I went into the store for or at least part of it. I also think that est. the price and taking a small calculator is a great idea. I had never thought of that. It would help you stay on budget. Also it would alert you if you are over charged on something which happens occasionally. I am trying to budget myself so thanks for the ideas!

Sometimes I make a list. But I like going through each stall at the grocery and combing it all to see if I need something. I tend to spend more but my eyes are happy.

I make a menu for the week and go thru my kitchen and figure out what I am missing. I have done it the other way of just going and grabbing things, but I found I save so much money by making a list and sticking by it.

I sometimes make a list, but I usually only need three or four things at the store so it's easy to remember them. Additionally, I'm good at making quick calculations, so I just add everything up in my head.

We have a notepad for all these things. Whenever there is a need of something then that thing is written on the pad and in the weekend one of the family members take the item slip and get the items. Organised isn't it?? I love this way of work. It makes easier to do things like shopping.

i would always check our food cabinet and ref for the list of things i need to buy. usually, we do our grocery every week so i can monitor how much food we can consume per day. we spend 12-15K per month on food alone. this includes wet and dry goods (cooking oil, soy sauce, etc) and few junkie extras. since, we have a 2 year old kid, i make it a point to write our weekly menu before going to the grocery. saves me time and energy. don't forget to bring a calculator. compare the prices in terms of brand and quality before buying the prod. goodluck! :)
