sunny66 My twin daughters also used to get shy around strangers. But now, they love to be around other kids. Maybe you can enroll your child in a playgroup. That will give her more exposure and a chance to socialize.

For Me, YES..and chocolates too:) ...some may find it so traditional and hey we're on the 21st century now, but then I find it really flattering and really sweet to receive chocolates and roses...and some more expensive presents...

sunny66 Well, it would be great if I receive flowers and chocolates (and/or other gifts) on Valentine's Day or any other occasion for that matter. BUT it's not really a big deal. It's the thought that counts (cliche, I know, but very, very true).
