Diana It's so sad. Dementia is an awful illness. I wonder why people suffer so much.

CarolDM I am sorry. My Dad always worried he would have to go to a nursing home. He passed in the hospital. Thankfully I was there. All you can do is savor the moments and memories.

I decided to make apple crumble today but it went terribly wrong. I would usually make my own crumble mix but today I used a pre made packaged version. My crumble didn't turn out like crumble. It was rock hard and like a frisbee...

Fiacre Banks @teenal Apple crumble is such wonderful comfort food that it has to be home made. I would never even order it in a restaurant. So disappointing for you. Do you make custard to pour over it? I’m getting excited now.

Last week here in Ireland it was really nice and sunny. Today it is cold, dark, wet and windy so a big change. I have my living room all nice and cosy. My fire is flickering away and I have a low lamp lighting and a few nice...

Fiacre Banks @teenal I see it’s mightily rough over in Dingle tonight with power cuts and all. I was glad to see the rain for the sake of my scallions and garlic though.

Fiacre Banks @teenal That really is the worst. You really do feel like you’re abandoning your parent but there’s nothing you can do about it.

AmberLynn You enjoy it. I know how you feel. I have no kids, but when I am able to get away from the family I live with, I relish it. I'm always picking up after someone here. A few weeks ago I pet-sat at a friend's and had the whole house to myself for days.
