What is your favorite facebook application?

kbkbooks @kbkbooks (7022) • Canada 6 Sep 07

I love how facebook allows you to send virtual gifts as well as messages. There are free gifts, some gifts you need to pay for which I don't use, there are also flowers, tropical fish and now hatching egg gifts. I think the...

facebook, yay or nay

lexridley @lexridley (231) • Tokelau 25 Sep 07

Is Facebook really that good. I'm on it and it works really well except for all those applications. Maybe we should start a myLot group on facebook and see if we can get some more people in this side.

The new contest on Helium

uninvitedwriter @uninvitedwriter (59) • Canada 26 Sep 07

Are you entering the contest? So far I've written 4 articles. I am already panicking thinking I should write at least 25 in a week. Two a day is my limit so far. Possibly I'll write more on the weekend. It's tough when you have a...

nishdan01 No need to write 25 articles. Write few articles and see how you perform on the leaderboard. I have writen about 6 or 7 articles to make to 2nd position in a previous contest. Quality matters and not quantity.

Red or White?

sheenac1983 @sheenac1983 (63) • Canada 4 May 07

Do you prefer red wine or white wine? Or does it depend on the meal you re having. Personally I prefer red during all occasions. I would rather not drink white wine at all, but I will if the occasion insists.

your cat's drinking water

scribe1 @scribe1 (1203) • United States 25 Sep 07

I read that cats should be given distilled water, not tap water. Tap water is polluted and has the potential to cause internal problems in cats, or so that author argues. Funny, I've been giving my cats fresh tap water all this...

Do you google yourself?

Raymo23 @Raymo23 (463) • Uganda 25 Sep 07

Well, it's something I do occasionally. Though |I have no site, only a blog, I do it to check the status of the many pages I am listed on. And if in a cafe, leave my name under the bar so that by chance, someone may search about...

How Often Do You Rate Articles on Helium.com?

sumimasen @sumimasen (644) • United States 5 Jun 07

I usually spend about an hour writing an article and then 15 minutes rating an article. If you don't rate articles, then you don't get your articles rated. I think they back-log all the rating so that the more you rate, the...

Noisy neighbours?

uninvitedwriter @uninvitedwriter (59) • Canada 24 Sep 07

My upstairs neighbour is very noise, always dragging something around, or stomping around or playing their tv loud enough for me to hear it. Do you have noisy neighbours? How do you handle them? Do you talk to them about it...

lightningMD We used to have noisy neighbors. Their tv was always loud and we could hear the bed springs squeaky. We solved it by moving out of apartments and into a house.

cats vs. dogs

emilywickersham @emilywickersham (56) • United States 23 Sep 07

I hope I don't start World War III here, but I really wonder why anyone prefers dogs to cats. We have two cats and a dog. The dog is ten times the work. You can't go away for more than a day without boarding him, he needs...

Blind cats

uninvitedwriter @uninvitedwriter (59) • Canada 23 Sep 07

My cat, Boo is blind. You would have a hard time believing it if you saw him. He gets by fine and hardly ever walks into anything anymore, his whiskers are finely tuned I guess. Do any of you have blind cats and do you treat them...

rosie_123 Hi. Your Boo is very beautiful. I do not pesronally have a blind cat, but my friend does, and, like Boo, he is as much a "normal" cat as any other. He eats well, he purrs, he loves being stroked and petted. Of course he is kept indoors and not allowed out,...

male vs. female cats

emilywickersham @emilywickersham (56) • United States 23 Sep 07

As a feminist, I hate to say this, but has anyone else noticed that male cats tend to make better pets than females I've had lots of cats, and the males always seem to be more relaxed and friendly, while the females tend to be...
