finishing at 80 and 82 certainly is disappointing given the hopes at the beginning of the season, but they finished strong and did a good job just getting to 80 wins. yes, this is great news! Signed through 2010 with an option for 2011 also. And, if he's as good as he was this year, then the Brewers have nothing to worry about. Plus, it's one less thing that Doug Melvin has to worry about during the off-season, so he can concentrate mainly on starting pitching. I think it would be a good move, bringing Tauscher back, even if he's not quite 100%, because even Tauscher at 70 or 80% is better than what they have now. the linemen they have now are young and inexperienced, they'll probably be good in a couple of years, but right now they're just overmatched.
