Really? I'd never heard that. Maybe I should quit. Seriously, I don't think any smoker is unaware of the risks of smoking in this day and age. There is a big difference, though, in knowing I SHOULD quit and getting to the point where I'm ready to DO it. And I'm not there yet. When I'm ready I hope I can.

I agree with you completely! Cigarettes keep going up in price here in the U.S., too. The reason they give is that it will encourage people to quit smoking. They also claim that higher prices will help prevent kids from starting, since kids (supposedly) don't have much money. I can see the logic, and, being the mom of young sons, would never want them to start smoking--even though I'm a smoker....
