Why Squidoo?

As some of you may know I've discovered I love making blogs and websites - not only because I can earn from them, but because I'm learning so much as well. And now I've discovered Squidoo :-) I am still learning how it all works but I can certainly see the benifits of it - not only have I already earnt a little bit of money (okay yes I'm still a long way from payout but it's a start) but I'm also getting more traffic and links back to my other blogs and websites etc. I'm still a long way from perfecting how it all works - though they are really easy to set-up (now it's just a matter of playing around as I add new content). So for those of you who are hestitant to start on your own blog - perhaps you can try Squidoo first - and for those of you who already have your own blogs - why not set up a lens (Squidoo page) and add your blogs rss feed to it - a good way to get some links back to your site and let others know what your blog is about. I have a several lenses in Squidoo and I think is a good tool when you first start. But truth is that is quite slow... every time you make a change it takes forever to publish it etc. The revenue is not that great, it's hard to stay on top, and it doesn't have any archive system. So at the end you end up with small lenses... I don't know, I like Squidoo and I still make lenses there but is a good tool only if you want to make something small and contemporary. some of my lenses are related to my other sites etc so it's easy to link them - either via the rss from my blog or a text link to a webpage etc.

Well, I don't expect to make a living out of this kind of places as well. But to be honest it hasn't really helped me with my traffic... I guess it's because my other sites are not relating to the content of my lenses.

Me too, me too... I love blogging... Its such a good outlet and a great way to earn a few extra bucks. I had a look at http://www.squidoo.com/start-working-online/ and it looks good. So, would you mind explain squidoo a little more? Like, lol, what it is exactly, how you use it and hwo it helps you earn? Anyone who knows me knows I have a few blogs up and running- which I really need to update jftr.

It sounds really interesting, and simple... and definitely something I should look into further if I do get and accept this part time job Im off rambling all over this site about...lol Its almost like automated income ;) Thanks once again for one of your brilliant explanations (NO you do NOT ramble :D you describe things well so i know whenever I ask you anything I can expect a proper answer to my question and dont need to follow with a hundred questions just to clarify...)

LOL it's definitely simple :-) Good luck with the part time job I hope you get it (I'll have to go and see where you've been talking about it) And lol thanks - I'd much rather make sure I explain things completely so people know what they're getting into - 'specially when it comes to anything to do with earning online

i haven't heard of this site until i came across this discussion. i have a couple of blogs already. and they're kind of personal. i'm thinking of a blog with its own niche. i'll be checking out squidoo and might be using in on these new project and to know what is the fuss all about and how come all of you are getting addicted to it. hmmm... thanks for posting it! i'll post my lenses here next time!

You're welcome :-) Once you see how easy it is - and by adding say your feed for your blog - how you can get more traffic etc, you too may find yourself creating several lenses :-)

it is addicting, isn't it? no, you will never make more than pocket change with squidoo but it's a GREAT way to drive traffic to your website or blog or generate affiliate sales or build up backlinks. since i'm a total dork, i also make lenses just for the fun of it like my 1980s music lense: http://www.squidoo.com/i-heart-1980s-music/ my most popular one is this one though http://www.squidoo.com/how-you-can-make-money-online/

LOL - that 80's music one is cool :-) You're right though, it's a great way to get links etc and it's really easy to set one up that it can get rather addicting :-)

You are sooooo right. Squidoo is the easiest most addictive site I have ever seen! I started in April and have 15 lenses. Kinda down though cause I only made $2. I need to do more research; if I can only stop making lenses!!!! LOL

LOL - yeah I just made another one :-). The money does seem slow to start with but then it starts jumping up - just make sure you find related groups and join them etc then the traffic starts building up.
