Would I get more replies to my discussions if I were to post a seductive picture of myself in my avatar?? Just curious. That seems to be the way it works. lol I'm not being malicious here, just trying to do some good natured teasing. I hope no one is offended.

maybe, maybe not. it all depends on the topic of discussion. if you share the same interest as other mylot users. for me, i've chosen the avatar of my baby nephew coz i was baby sitting when i changed my avatar a few days since joining mylot. sometimes i get several responses sometimes a few. but i'm happy enough to get a few quality responses already. :) if your goal is to get more responses from the mylot community you may want to try these: 1) post topic of discussion within your area of interest but also where mylot population is also high. example is mylot.com, relationship, people, life etc. increased visibility to users increases your chance to get a lot of responses. 2) increase the number of your friends. right now you have 44 friends. let's say that at least 10% of your friends would be interested to respond to your discussions. that will give you 4-5 responses to your discussion. if you notice those users with a lot of responses in their discussions, they have hundreds of friends in their list, even a thousand. imagine 10% of their friends respond in the discussions. but don't just ask anybody to be your friend. choose people who are active and share the same interest as you do. some users are quite partial to their friens in mylot. they tend to respond more on their friends' discussions. 3) get a reputation. when you reach 100 posts you will have a star rating or mylot reputation. it's a star with a number from 0 to 10, with 10 being the highest. once you have a reputation, more people will take you more seriously in mylot. changing your avatar to someting seductive is up to you if you do feel comfortable with it. as one of the responses above, it may not guarantee more responses, just more onlookers. goodluck! just continue to enjoy and doing quality posts. the responses you receive will increase for sure when you do the 3 items above. :)

Thanks for the suggestions. I just happened to notice that there a few that get tons of responses to what I don't consider "quality" discussion. I'm not complaining. It's all in fun and if they are raking in the big bucks here in mylot, good for them. I agree that having a good number of friend help. I'm here to have fun. Learn a few things and maybe earn a little for my time.

One user I saw always got over 100 responses to her discussions, she very seldom responsed to any, boasted of making bigs bucks here and I know why...no sexy avatar but 875 referrals, so she posted, they replied, so a double whammy.. she earned from her discussiona and then earned again by her referrals (25% of their earnings) responding to her discussions!.

I don't use the e-mail notifier, but the first discussions that I check for are "discussions my friends have posted". Then I check for responses to discussions that I have posted or vise versa, then I start looking under interests, if I'm still here.

It would seem to be the case, then I know of another that just has a good following since he words his titles really well. Good luck with this. Get replies should be as easy as having your friends support you.

I have also realize that how you word your titles is important. I could have titled this one "seductive avatars" and maybe I would have had more people lookin lol But,as I've said in other posts, I'm here for several reasons. Getting responses and earning money are not at the top of my list. Thanks for your response.

I have never had a discussion with 0 responses so my beautiful, sexy, avatar must appeal to the right people.

I don't think you'd get more responses. I've had the same avatar since I started at the end of January, and I'm afraid to change it because I know I recognize some users by their avatar first, and if I change mine no one will recognize me anymore! I've noticed however that it's always the really weird or controversial discussions that get the most responses.

I like your avatar. lol I think the people who them most responses are the ones that have the most friends. But I've noticed a few of the females who get the most responses are also exposing the most amount of skin in their pics. It's just an observation. To each his (or her) own. Personally, I look for the discussions that I can relate to.

For me an avatar is personal and I feel that it makes it more personal if someone has a picture of themselves as their avatar rather than a benign cartoon character or squiggle! It helps to put a face behind the discussion. I have always had my pic as my avatar since day one, it's all to easy to hide behind the computer and be unknowns and it helps to make it a friendlier site, the discussion and the person matter more to me and a seductive picture might send out wrong messages personally speaking

I don't know, but, if it works let me know, maybe I'll get some more responses.

My kids would LOVE your avatar. They are into offroading etc. Unfortunately, we can't afford the vehicles but we have friends that let them go out with them sometimes.

LOL I have noticed this also. It does seem to be the ones with a little cleavage showing get well over one hundred replies. I hope no one is offended either but it is true.

I don't think it would matter, at least I hope not. I just go through and find things that are interesting, or well what I'm doing now is going through and answering all my friends discussions. I really hope that something like that wouldn't affect how people respond or whatever.
