Ok so .. who is giving me negative??

Well I guess many members are giving me negative .. and the score of my stars is decreasing because of this .. I know I am working hard here .. but why people are rating me negative .. my star count is always fluctuating between 8, 9 and 10 always .. Is there some kind of users who don't like to see other members 10 stars?? I don't know after starting this discussion .. I will have again decrease in my stars .. but I really think that this will happen .. I am really in a great danger of loosing my stars.. I know I can't do anything about it .. but this is really not fair .. many users are misuing the feature to rate other members negative without any reason. I thought all are quality friends here .. but there are a plently of bad quality members too. I don't think any of my response to discussion is bad or not worth .. so why why whyyyyyyyy negative?? Obviously the member who is constantly rating me negative will not reply here that he rated me negative .. there might be many other users who have noticed this thing .. please share your experiences here ....

It happened to me two day ago, l droped from 94 - 81, lt was so annoying. l think some members just do negative rating for unjust cause. l can understand how you feel, take heart, it will come up again, aleast mine is raising again, its at 84 now, with time l will bounce back, and you too

Hello,touchshine,it is normal to have fluctuations in the rating,i also had same experience before,i did not know whether it was due to the rating from other members only,but i am sure as long as you keep up with good quality discussions and replies,your rating will be increased again,no worry.I will also rate you positive,hope it helps.

i know how you feel and i feel exactly the same as you.i am exactly the same postion as you are in.i had my points deducted like mad.there was a drastic drop in my points.i never rate anyone negative and i dont reply to controversial discussions but still my points reduce.i have never been able to figure it out.so i just started ignoring my star ratings.i dont care what i get nowadays.

You got + from me .. hope it will increase your star count .. You know what after starting this discussion my star count is decreasing -- earlier it was 93 when I started the discussion and now it's 87 means I am getting more and more negatives by starting this discussion.

The only time I have ever rated someone a negative is when they copied my post. Otherwise I postive everything i answer. If I dont think it was worth a postive I just dont rate it all. I certainly hope people are negatively rating people just to hurt them. Hopefully my positive will cancell out their negative.

Even I won't rate anyone negative .. but don't know how can other users do that?? May be they can't see other members increasing stars .. Thanks for rating me positive .. hope it helps:)

I wonder if people abuse the rating system and rate other member with a negitive just because they don't agree with their point of view.
I personally have rated a couple of people with a negitive simply because their posts did not really have anything to do with the discussion. There have been quite a few people that didn't agree with my point of view but I respected their point of view on the subject and still gave them a positive rating. There are times that I don't rate people at all if they have given a one line answer and it pertains to the discussion. Yes, they answered the question but they didn't put a lot of thought into it.

Your post might have been the best you have ever done but I have found on here people that don't have the same opinion as you do tend to "flame" you and give negitive feed back.
Persoanlly I am to the point I could care less about a star and what is in it. If I have an opinion on something I will post it even if I know it isn't what everyone thinks. If people want to rate me negitively unjustly then more power to them. As long as I am having fun and I am making a little money from MyLot, I don't care.

This coming from the kid who has a picture of himself flipping the bird (speaking of vulgar).
Actually, the last time I checked, ratings were supposedly based on the content of the post, not the picture. If the post doesn't contribute to the conversation, or violates the rules of content, then you rate it negative (or report it, depending on how bad the rule violation is). If it contributes something of worth to the discussion, and doesn't violate the rules, it is not deserving of a negative rating, regardless of whether or not you disagree with it. At least, that's how it's supposed to work.
Pictures have nothing to do with it, it's all about the content. Furthermore, even if pictures had anything to do with the ratings, then she would more often than not recieve positive ratings, because she has an awesome avatar.

I totally disagree with your view point and if u want to rate me negative then go ahead.. Just see what you have written above your profile caption.. and people used to get negatives with the matter written in discussions. It has nothing to do with avatar.

for me when i rate negative and i did it only one time i send a report for my lot too with the rating , but i know that every place have the good people and the bad people so i know that there is many who take it like a play or joke and play with the rating buttons , so we all can be in your position unfortunely .

I am sorry for you my friend...
You dont have to worry for that because here there are more number of persons giving you positive rating than giving negative rating...
When i got my first rating i was rated 3 then it went down to even to 2 but from there i gained a rating of 9 so fast ....I got this only because of the positive rating from my other friends...
So i think u should expect for the best as here good ones outnumbers bad ones

i think that some peope do it out of spite and jealosy. I do not see any other reason. I have yet not lost my 10th star, however I am guessing that it just a matter of time before i do, coz the rating (numbers) seems to be pending alot.

Does star rating really have any impact on our earnings? Is it that someone who has more stars earns more for the same number of discussions? If not then why bother about it. Im sure none of your friends are rating you negative and as long as you keep getting those responses Id say dont bother too much about it.

I am very sorry to hear about that. I have never marked anyone negative so far and I hope I will not be doing that in future as well. I don't think that should be the intention.
If don't like anyone's response, the best thing I will do is to remain neutral.
I wonder how much weightage does rating have on one's earnings? I am compiling information at present about all those factors which have an impact on MyLot earnings. I am writing a report and will make it available to every one in my blog.
I hope members will not be unduly harsh towards others. If some persons do not like something, the best thing they can do is to avoid negative rating.

i got the same fear as you. it's really funny, that for us who don't rate any "+" or "-" or even "report abuse" get's a decrease of points or ranks... i know the feeling that we don't even give a rude answers, or bad comments that people may think of rating us on a negative rank that leads us in decreasing our points and ranks. that everyone is trying it's best to succeed but somebody we don't know will try to pull us down or whatever... well, it's hard to find out or guess who and how this things happen.

hello friend its realy bad to give -ve response and i can feel ur pain as its realy hard to make money or maintain ranking in my lots as its little complecated too as we can't know who has given -ve rating i personaly never rate any one -ve. other thing i am experiencing from few days my posting no is lowring sometimes by two or one i am also confussed why is it happening so .whould you please help me related to my problem

Thanks a lot for your understanding how bad we feel sometimes by this negative .. our whole hard work here becomes zero.. and the bad point is we never came to know who did that .. may other member did it for fun .. but it takes a lot of time to earn the star.. Regarding your query on experiencing posting number -- lowering -- I would like to tell you some posts gets deleted on which u might have responded and because of this posting no. goes down. Even it happened to me -- I reached 500 .. after sometime I saw my post no. -- 497 -- then I again made 500 and the next day it became 498 .. so this happens because of the posts getting deleted by mylot.

I only give '-' ones. n that's not you. the person just respond the discussion with the word BULL SH*T. i almost give it REPORT.
hmm maybe your rate was reduced bcos the admin deleting some discussion here, that's why we get reduced. is it impossible?
mine too... i'm so sad you know... i remember i ever got 86. n the next day i saw my rate only 83. i try so hard to get this 85. ukh...
i really want to know who give me the '-' ... but i think it's fair... well perhaps if we know who giving us, we will give the person '-' too. so the admin wouldn't tell us who giving the +/-

Yaa we should rate negative only when the post is inappropriate .. but it's unfair the members are rating negative for no reason .. it reallly makes me feel sad. Yes there are many posts which are getting deleted and our posts count gets decreased because of this ... but this has nothing to do with stars.. There should be some system to know that who rated us negative .. rather than keeping it a secret. Yes my account was blocked as I told in my other id -- touchnshine2 .. and as per the advice of friends I contacted mylot and they activated my this account .. but blocked touchnshine2 .. but it's ok .. I worked hard on this id and not touchnshine2 .. that discussion is also deleted which I started with touchnshine2

Don't worry about it hun, this is normal on here. For what it's worth, I rarely use the negative button, usually only when someone has either blatently copied a discussion or, once or twice, they have left stupid comments on my discussions

Sadly it happens, people mark negative if they don't agree with your views of opinions. The only time I ever give a negative is if the person writes a very mean post, or starts like personally attacking people. Hang in there, it will go up again and I don't think it effects your earnings here at all.

Does it have to be that people are giving you negatives, or are you just not getting as many plusses and not as many best responses. You have a high star rating so it just may be that you need to be almost perfect in the plusses.
I don't pretend to know how the ratings work here, and I don't care. Each day I may or may not get rated, but as long as people read my posts and responses and get something, even if just a small chuckle, that is what I am looking for.
That I get paid for it makes it a bonus, but not why I do it.

I was just making another post when I thought of something.
I have a 9 rating, that means that some people don't agree with me. Now that doesn't bother me because I am not here to make friends with everyone, and to just try to make myself look good by following other's beliefs and ideas.
I have always been confrontational about subjects, I try not to be mean or hurting to other people, but I will not change my thoughts just to please someon, you need to show me that my thoughts are wrong.
I am on another board, on my avatar is my picture with the words - Bring It On !! That is my motto, I enjoy a good debate. Let's have at it and give me all you got and I'll do the same. Nothing personal, I won't attack you, but I won't let up because it's you.
