What makes you cry?

Teary eyes - Everything makes me cry!

I am a very emotional person and will cry at the drop of a hat. Especially if I don't take my psych medication! This might sound strange but I cry when I hear our National Anthem or any of our patriotic songs and don't even know why. I always feel ridiculous and try to hide it. Parades make me cry! Ridiculous huh? Of course a lot of music makes me cry especially the old love em' and leave em' because of my personal experience. A lot of movies make me cry. I try to not listen to the music or watch the movies that I know will get me started. There are a lot of my favorite movies and songs that I know I have to stay away from because of it. Do you cry? For no apparent reason? Exactly what makes you cry? Is it true that REAL men don't cry? I personally don't think so.

I cry to the sound of taps. I cry during powerful scenes of movies. I've gotten teary eyed over acts of kindness and compassion.

Indeed it is. I heard it, in person, for the first time just a couple of weeks ago. Burying an old friend of the family, a marine veteran. It's powerful.

Military taps - Taps is a tear jerker
Taps is definitely another tear jerker for me. Very sad isn't it?

many things. i'm also very emotional and i have shallow tears. like this afternoon, i watched a dvd (world trade ccenter) and i couldn't stop crying. i also cry reading touching stories from books or articles - i'm easily afected by it. listening to my favorite music especially the ones that reminds me of my father and mother or my childhood - they all make me cry. i love listening to them esp. when i'm down and would need a good cry, i'll put on some of these sounds of my yesteryears. goodbyes me cry, so most times, i don't go to send-offs because i can't help myself and i feel stupid. i think we all need a good cry sometomes just to be in the moment of touching base with our feelings. it helps release the tensions of the moment and somehow we feel refreshed after shedding some real tears and we're back on our feet again.

I'm not a crier, so it might take a bit to make me cry. Surprisingly, I sort of choked while giving the toast in my brother's wedding last Sunday, I struggled with the last bits and it was so surprising for me...I never cry! Lol. The only time I get highly emotional is if I'm not getting along well with a loved one. My mom is very feisty, so when her and I aren't speaking for some reason or other I won't cry in front of her, but I might cry while retelling what happened to someone else. If it's serious, anyway. Otherwise, I hardly ever cry. Not sure if that's a good thing or not - but I'm more of a chirpy kind of person and have always shown my emotions through laughter and not tears...which is why I'm still surprised I cried at my brother's wedding! Haha.

I think the "chirpiest" people have emotions and that's why you got choked up giving that toast.

Hi, I like to think of myself as a "real man" and I also admit I do cry at times. I typically do not do so if anyone is around however. What tends to make me cry is anything which has to do with harshness or sadness towards children. I do not like to see kids sad or hurt and when I do it in turn makes me very sad myself. That would be what makes me cry more than anything. cheers,

Weddings are another place I always cry. Probably because they are usually so beautiful.

i am a cry-baby myself too... but its weird that even your country's national athem made you cry??.... i usually cry a sad things... like sad movies or anything that touches my heart... or when i am mad, i just keep quiet and cry... for me crying and singing are my therapy so that i'll never feel so sad... maybe that's your therapy too!

They say that crying is a sort of therapy and can be good for us. The national anthem makes me cry because it's so beautiful I guess.

i am an emotional and a shallow person, too. i cry almost at everything. my boyfriend laughs at me when i go in tears when watching a tv show. i don't know why. what i know is i get to be in tears easily when watching touching moments on tv or hearing so sweet words, etc. just this morning, i was singing the WIND BENEATH MY WINGS song of bette midler. and upon reading the lyrics, i remembered my boyfriend and a sudden flow of tears showed. gosh gosh. i really am so emotional. oh. when it comes to men crying, i don't find men who cry a coward. my boyfriend cries, too and i don't belittle him by doing so. i find men who can cry brave... brave enough to show their real affections and brave enough to let the world know how they feel deep inside. anne

I'm sure if I thought about it I could think of a few songs that make me cry, however I can tell you that music does cause emotion. In me it is the form of goosebumps

I always cry during sad movies. I think I cry even more during happy-sad movies. The last movie I cried though was The Notebook. My mother is especially bad for crying. She cries during soapies! I think also seeing other people cry makes me cry. Even if I don't know them. For example if someone's meeting a long lost relative at the airport and they're hugging and crying, that's likely to set me off. I also tend to cry a lot when I hear about animal cruelty.

I don't think that's strange at all. The lyrics to the National Anthem are pretty powerful if you listen to them. I get weepy in lots of movies, even ones that are especially "sad". Ever see True Lies? It's an action movie, not intended to be a tear-jerker I don't think. But it touched a nerve with me that the wife had no idea the husband had this whole other life. It was too much like my ex & I who were breaking up at the time, I bawled like a baby. I'm expecting now, and it would be easier to list the things that don't make me cry than the things that do! Almost anything can send me to tears.

I got weepy at that movie too. I guess I can weep at anything at this point. Right now your hormones are raging at this point I'm sure you know that.

Lots of things make me cry. movies, reading sad stories, my kids, onions. Sometimes i dont even know what starts me off. It makes me feel so silly. But i dont believe in the saying real men dont cry. I believe that 'your not a real man until you cry" Best wishes to you, ctry.

I am very emotional and sensitive. I cry over movies, sad books and most especially If talking to someone going thru a very trying time. I don't just start sobbing...just get choked up. As for men crying? The most loving and wonderful men I have met are not afraid to shed a tear openly.

ii don't think so..mean who doesn't cry are not brave but which i call coward..coward the truth that all people including men cries that is why we are all created equal with eyes and tears to cry..with shoulder to cry on.. things can easily make me cry, like when i was touch with a story on a movie..when i watch the competitions and someone won..when I'm overwhelmed i cry..and most specially when I'm in pain and was thinking bout my daughter and my brother i cry..

It depends on what I am dealing with at the time and going through. I could not stop crying when I lost my mom a few years ago. I was recently betrayed by someone who I thought was my friend, but had other intentions in mind for me. That has made me very distrustful of a lot of people now. Sometimes music can do it too.

I'm a natural born cryer, ctry. I cry for many of the same reasons that you do-a movie, an old song. One thing that never fails to tesr me up is the story of the Crucifixion. I also cry when I hear reports of the soldiers being killed in Iraq. My aunt used to tell me that the fact that I cried so easily was a sign that I had a tender heart. Sometimes I wish it wasn't quite so tender.

I'm a real sucker for movies sometimes and that will turn on the water works for me...and not necessarily sad movies either, but ones that end sort of happily ever after kind of thing...also music from movie soundtracks--I always cry at the end of Return of the King, when Frodo leaves...so when I even just hear the music from that part will cry buckets... And no--that's not true--men can cry just as easily as women at times

I am also a emotional person but, I always try to stop when I feel crying. There are some movies, which makes me cry and I love to see such movies again and again. When I see some devotional and patriotic movies, I let the tears come out of my eyes. But in personal life I never cry before my friends and family. I feel if I would cry before them they would feel I am weak and I am also in sorrow and tension. So, I always try to make them smile and try to make them feel that the situation is not out of control. We can get out of it. Crying would not solve the problem.

Hi!Well my friend, everybody cries sometime or the other, but the only thing is that some easily show their tears [out of control] & some have the power to drink in the tears.Let me tell you that when youput your heart & soul in something, the tears are revealed. The LOVE or MUSIC which touches your heart, creates a sort of emptiness which takes the form of tears. It isnothing but natural.Often, one des not like to cry in front of somebody & so they cry when they are alone in the four walls or on the pillow. That's LIFE, accept it.If you do not want to cry, do not get too involved. GOD BLESS!! www.creatingcolourfulfuture.com
