Would you live next door to a very poor person?

If you had lots of money, would you choose to live next door to someone who was very poor? Or, would you prefer to live near others who enjoyed the same financial status as yourself? As for me, I'm more than willing to live next door to a person who is rich or poor. In my opinion, there are good people all over and not all of them are rich! I don't care what financial background my neighbors are from as long as they are decent and law-abiding individuals. What's your opinion on this subject?

Very poor people have their own problems. If I have the choice, I won't live next door to a very poor family because I have lived next door to these types of people for quite some time. It wasn't a pleasurable experience at all. I don't say all of poor people are bad, but according to my experience many poor people have bad manners. They are not educated so this contributes to their behaviour which is annoying most of the time. They talk without using brains and keep hurting us. I think I would prefer to live with neighbors who have the same financial status as I am. In this way it can reduce the gap between us as we come from the more or less the same financial situation. However, this is based on my personal experience. Please do not feel offended to my statement. I seek your apology in advance, if I do hurt somebody's feeling by writing this. I wish you all the best, beautyqueen26. Hope to see more of you for days to come. Have a nice day!

I think you are right on one point. Some people are nice, and some people don't. I think you may hear some stories from news. Even though you think he/she is a nice guy, and he/she still may hurt /kill you one day. I live in a poor neighbors. I am not rich but I keep my house to look nice. And I know my neighbors watching what am I doing. They did check my every moves. When I wanted to give away some old stuffs, they saw those stuffs on the garbage can. If they are nice, they will come to ask to have those old stuffs right away. Some nebighbors will just take away. I don't think they do wrong. It's just showing human natural.

I'm not the type to let money change me and I don't have an awful lot at the moment, but I have the richness of a good life, the nature around me and some really sweet and close friends and family. So, I think if I came into money and was suddenly rich, I would live amongst poor people and discreetly help them along their way. Money doesn't mean an awful lot to me, my friend. It's more trouble than it's worth and I feel we should all have equal opportunities. Love rules! Brightest Blessings. :)

I wouldn’t care as long as they didn’t bother me- Like playing music too loudly or being obnoxious- I think people regardless of being poor or having extra money are good in nature- So really I would not care.

It is not so much the people around me that would matter, its the place I am buying, the neighborhood and how safe it is and things like that. If someone happens to be poor or rich in either side, it would not bother me, as long as the area i chose to live in was safe enough for my family and me.

I don't usually know the financial status of my neighbours. I don't really care, either, although I wouldn't want to live next to messy or loud people.

If I have more money would I choose to live near poor people well that depends. If the place is okay to live like their is no crime, or robbers or snatchers there then why not? I think there is no problem living with poor people as long as they are decent and have good conduct.

I don't care live next door to a poor person or a rich person.I think his personality is more important than his financial status. And,everything will change.Maybe one day he will be rich and I become poor.

Hello beautyqueen26, I don't mind living next to a poor person. It won't affect me. But I have been thinking, if I am rich and can afford to buy a luxury house to live in, I don't think there will be a poor neighbor staying next to my bungalow house in the same neighborhood *smiles*

I think there is nothing wrong living next door with poor people. I can find any problem with that. In fact poor people are easy to get along with. They've been through tough times in their lives. Although there are some rich people that are good citizens but mostly (sorry, no offense) they are untouchables. I mean, you can't just approach them or they might suspect you are up to something, stealing from them or what. Most of rich people lock their doors in fear of being robbed, while poor people have nothing to lose.

if the are poor and abide by the law, I would live next to them. but if they don't then I wouldn't just a matter of feeling secure when you sleep at night is what it comes down to for me, not a money issue.

I have no problem actually living next to anyone but if I had a lot of money and they had none I would have the problem of not giving them some money as I really don't believe in having too much more than you really need and I would not be able to sit and watch a family struggle if I had plenty of money just sitting in the bank.

If I had a lot of money, I would live next to someone who was rich. Not because I'm a snob, but because that's the area of town I would live in. A poor person wouldn't be able to afford a house near mine, because I would be living in town. I guess if for someone reason I decided to buy some land and build my own house (which would be VERY unlikely), I wouldn't mind who my neighbors were or how much money they had. As long as they weren't loud and obnoxious having parties all the time and they weren't bad influences on my child.
