I know i have 3 months to go, usually im half way done by now! i like to start my shopping in february!!Extra money is always there for us... my husband works 50+ hours a week just to make ends meet someitmes! so when i see a good deal i grab it ( thanks to my sister and her special shopping teqniques) i can start shopping early!... it saves time and hassle around the months closet to christmas... the lines, the prices, the "out of stock" because its number one on this years "hotest christmas gifts" list.. for me ihave a huge family and not to mention the friends and there children that i give gifts to... i would never be able to make christmas gift giving expiernce if i didnt start as soon as christmas was over!! who else starts shopping early? when is the earliest youve started? how many people do you usualkly shop for??

Yes we started our Christmas shopping in July this year. Rather than buy all the presents at once we like to buy so many at a time. Also my son's birthday is not long after Christmas Day so have his birthday presents to buy and I am also pregnant so the baby is due in November so thought it would be easier to start early rather than dragging a baby and a kid round the shops nearere the time. There have also been a few sales lately so got some presents in the sale. Got a fair few people to buy for as well. I would say about 10 people.

I haven't started shopping yet. I've started making some gifts, but I can't do any shopping yet because I don't know who I will be buying for. In our family, we draw names, and we get a gift for the person whose name we drew.

I started early this year, i managed to get a couple of outfits for my nephews & nieces at the end of Xmas sales, around late January early February of this year. I put on my Xmas lay-by's (the ones that store your lay-by & allow you to pay it off up to Xmas Eve) on when those sales start which is in June i think, so i have everything sorted out except for my parents & partner. Our daughter's things are already sorted, as well as the 8 nieces & nephews - everything is on lay-by & we're pretty set. At the moment we're having our end of Winter sales so i am stocking up on some great Winter items for my overseas pals that have Xmas in Winter! It works a treat! Also, the best place to buy cheap items is at the factory outlets, i go there a lot too. :) Oh the entire number of people we have to buy for is about 18 so there are a lot of gifts to buy.

I think that it is a good thing to do. I am a student so money is really hard to come by because my family pratically disowned me, and my friends cant really comprehend that... (so they expect expensive gifts like they give me...) and when I spot a deal. I grab it... and no really notices!! So everyone is happy!

Hello Beautfulmama6701, Yup, I'm about 3/4 finsished. I just have the babies (nephews & grandson), Hubby, & a couple of co-workers left. Like you, I try to shop throughout the year. It alleviates so much stress during the holidays, and allows me to enjoy the spirit of the season. Plus, I don't feel like the season is so commercialized this way. It rather spreads the joy of giving throughout the year, as I keep in mind the needs, likes and dislikes of those who are near to my heart. Plus, the ability to catch sales throughout the year is a bonus! When is the earliest I've started? Well, that would be with the 'after Christmas sales'. Most years I purchase that far in advance, and stash the items away until the next year. This works out well for some on my list, as I'll find more than one item that's just perfect for a single individual.

My mom's planning to start her Christmas shopping this month. She usually starts it around November, but because we're moving soon she doesn't plan on us having a really big Christmas. And she wants to start shopping now. I think I'd be the same as you when I'm a parent. Except I'd be doing my Christmas shopping for the next year on boxing day!

I'm not yet starting my Christmas shopping but I will start it soon enough. I want to avoid the Christmas rush. Maybe I will make my shopping list later this afternoon.

That's a good thing - starting your shopping early. I am living from disability check to disability check, and I don't have extra money to shop. However, I have a lot of things to sell on ebay, and I've been going through these things thinking, "some of this stuff will make excellent Christmas presents!" The other thing is that I am a coupon clipper, and a person who likes to earn extra money online, etc. So I am going to use this site (as well as gather.com) for making money. Oh shoot, that reminds me, I am playing a game to make money - called Moola. It is another for real site to make money on! I love free stuff!@

Okay, if you want a moola invite, you have to email me, or give me your email address, so I can send you an invite. I only have three and apparently I have to send it to your email in order for you to get it (if you are still interested based on what I've told you thus far). My email is celisa at gmail dot com.

As soon as it's after a person's birthday and I see something that person would like, I buy it for the person's Christmas gift. So, yes, I have started X-mas shopping already. Finds happen all year long.

I am sure my future mother in-law starts in same time like you.We are always laughing at her, because she buy all this gifts and put then to the one room.So after all year the gifts are everywhere and you cannot step to that room. When Christams come is so much mess there, she cannot find, what is for who and she spend few hours there jsut looking trough the all that stuff to find right paper wrap for it.I don't know if this is really less stress like go shoping just few weeks before Christmas. I would like to start shopping also in february, but when I buy something I want to give to person right away, becuase I cannot wait, how they will like it.This way I would shop forever.

lol your future mother in law sounds like my mother... the only problem with my mom doing it just like that is she always misplaces them and has to go out before christmas and buy new gifts and then the following year when she does her spring cleaning she comes across what she bought the revious yera for christmas!! That's really funny.i remeber from my childhood, I was shoping with my mum in farmers market and then for few gifts for Christmas. We come home and was looking for oranges, who we bough, but cannot find them.So we just thought we probably forget them somwehere. Then later under the christmas tree I find my barbie doll in the same bag with those nasty, rotten oranges.

I'll have to be honest and say that I do my xmas shopping in the week before xmas! It's a HUGE financial strain and every year I tell myself that I'll start with the July sales, but it never happens. A friend of my grandmother's has all her xmas shopping FINISHED by end of June. She even has them wrapped and tagged by then. I wish I was that organised.
