do you read a lot?

September 13, 2007 12:20am CST
how many hours do you spend your time on reading? which reading material do you read the most?(newspapers/novels/educational books/the Bible/magazine,etc..) do you read on a planned time or anytime you find free? do you realize at what time do you read most? (daytime or nighttime?)

i'm not a regular reader, although i will read a book before going to bed. i just make me calm, then i can have a good sleep. when i have nothing to do, then i will choose a book to read. and it is easy for me to concentrate on it. i like reading very much. but now i spend too much time online making money, then i lose some time to read books. frankly, reading is necessary for everyone. you can learn lots of things from it.

I read whenever I am free, I don't have any particular time when it comes to reading. I read mostly newspapers (tabloids, broadsheets), books that are of my interests and novels. I read everything that I can learn at, because it helps me grow more as a person. Most of the times, I read before going to bed so my eyes would go heavy and all I nedd to do is close my eyes!;)

Yep, animals such as birds shouldn't be involved in this post!LoL There are times that I feel sleepy but when I am already on bed, my mind starts to think of different things so I turned into reading instead. Also, I lose the desire to sleep everytime I go to bed..

that's exactly what i've been doing. (psst..have you been spying on me..?..lol..) yeah, one way to get faster to sleep is to tire the eyes by doing something interesting like reading. it's like "killing two birds with one stone".(but i don't kill birds..lol..) cheers raijin!

As much as I love to read I dont have as much chance as I'd like to actually sit down and read...The past couple months I've tried to get at least a little bit in before goin to sleep at night and throughout the week I try to read when time allows but I couldnt really say how much time...some days I'll read for only 1/2 hr and other days it's 3 or 4 hours...It varies really

interesting form you. yeah, reading is inconsistence. it doesn't require time frame but it helps build you to become someone who can manage time itself. i think 1 hour is long enough for me for now. other times, i watch TV (i know it's not good) but one day, i'll be back to reading more. hey Ravenladyj, you mentioned "horror" story right? have you read my horror version in "...last Wednesday night..."?

I try to read at least an hour each day. I read newspaper, The Bible, and different books. In two weeks also set apart a day to read. I think I read most in the morning before lunch.

i read every night because it is the best time for me. i go to school so i read books of my interest which are some educational books, novels, and some kids ("look and find" books. although i read more the adult books.i think i read like an hour everyday.
13 Sep 07
an hour a day is very good. not many would spend their time reading that long especially in this internet age. but reading books is still my favorite compared to surfing. thanks buddy!

I have my moments when I read... and in that period I read a lot... but with the some condition that the book that I read is good... beside that, i read very slow... I mean if i decide for a book... it takes me almost a week to read it... I guess because I like to enjoy it:P

I love to read, but I don't always have a lot of time to read. I do get at least a couple hours a week in. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

I used to read a lot of pocketbooks when I was in High school. I read even when classes were going on. I just cover it with a textbook and pretending to be reading the lesson at hand. LOL But recently,I became too lazy reading them... I just get tired reading them on paper back. I rather read e-books nowadays, it's more handy and I can manipulate it whatever I want.

I read plenty, but I don't spend the same amount of time reading every day, and I don't keep track of how much time I spend reading. I usually read novels, comics, and magazines. I don't often read educational books, except textbooks which I have to read because I'm still a student and I'd fail if I didn't study. I don't plan my reading time, I just read whenever I have free time and a newly bought/borrowed book.
13 Sep 07
that's natural. just be yourself when it comes to reading. don't force yourself to study- that's why you have to study smart. a well organized time between play, sleep, study or any activity. you can do it at school/college. good luck on your studies! (don't do too much internet)

I read about 60 books a year on average, mostly novels or nonfiction with entertainment value. I don't read a lot of reference material or anything like that. On average, I try to devote a couple hours a day to reading although there are days (or weeks or months) that it just isn't feasible. I read what I can when I can. Let's put it that way.
14 Sep 07
i call that an impressive achievement! i really envy you for that. i think i only read 6 novels a year...:P
13 Sep 07
I love reading but as i have delivered 4 months back...with coming in I get very little time to read...I can only make up to read new paper these days.

well, congratulations on your newborn. time for reading is flexible and it's actually up to you when you want to read. there's no point to read when you're not in the right mood coz' it's only gonna waste your time. so, feel free when you want to read to enjoy the the time spent for this purpose. have a nice day and take care of your health and your baby. cheers!

I probably read 3-4 hours a day, mostly in the evening (not counting what I read online of course). I am talking books and magazines and newspapers. I read more over the weekend, especially on Sunday, when the newspaper is really big. I love to read and have read a lot all my life, and I don't think it will stop anytime soon. I still watch too much TV. I should give up all that TV time for books and magazines, and I am sure I would be much more richly rewarded. TV is just such a distraction; once I start watching, it's hard to tear myself away. It's best just never to turn it on. Think of how many books I could read if I didn't watch TV!

i feel you're talking from my mind...it's amazing to read people's comments when they're actually the same exact stuff coming from your own mind. Hi AnythngArt! thanks for the comments. the only difference between our comments is that your 3-4 hours a day is my 34 minutes a day on reading..i'm crazy about reading but at the same time, I'm lazy...lol... thanks Art!

are you really serious? you read anything at all? how about the share market reports with tiny tiny boring figures, telephone books, etc...? those too? anyway, you're an all rounder so far in this topic. thanks!

I've started going back to the library and getting books to read.I read mostly in the evening after everyone's in bed . I cannot take a book to read like a doctor's office,I have to have quiet to read.My problem is I can't quit reading and sometimes finish the whole book in one night or staying up way too late.

Oh yes I do read a lot because I enjoy reading, reading enriches the mind ,it acts as fodder for the brain .It helps me toenter upon any topic which is being discussed by people around me .
