Power Outage

I woke up this morning to everything blinking due to a short power outage. I really hate having to reset all the clocks in my apartment, but the one on my stereo is the worst. You have to go through this complicated routine to reset the clock or the display keeps blaring away continuously. I thought I had learned to do it properly, but it didn't work this morning. That caused me to have to search for the manual to find out what I was doing wrong. Once I finally found the manual I saw that I was doing it right-it just wasn't working. I became very frustrated after a while and let it go. Do these things ever bother you so much?

Yeah I don't like a power outage either. I usally have to keep the doors open for air. I get so over heated so fast. Also the old alarm system goes crazy when the lights shut off.All you have to do is hit off but it still makes me crazy.

Yes, Shaun, they are an inconvenience to everyone. Sometimes I think we would be better off without having to depend upon so many electrical gadgets.

It is very annoying, Calais. I am seriously considering getting rid of all my digital clocks and exchanging them for battery operated ones.

I hate it! The fall time change is coming up soon here, and it's a big pain in the butt to go all through the house, and try to figure out how to set all the clocks. AHHH!

Just one more of the many things calculated to annoy us, bonbon! I would be perfectly happy if they just left the time alone.

I get like that at times also. Where we live at every time is rains real hard the transformer by our trailer blows and then we lose power and have to reset every thing and one storm that we had the transformer blew two time with in 4 hours that day I was really made. Because every time the power goes out we have to reset our internet because we have wireless internet.

We had a power outage for four days in June due to a mini tornado and it about drove me nuts. Luckily we were able to salvage the food in the refrigerator.

I would have been tearing out my hair, naty, if I had to go without power for 4 days. How did you ever manage? It must have been very difficult.

I know how you feel Wise1, When ever there is an electrical power outage it can take almost a half-hour it seems if you have a lot of appliances; like the Microwave,Stove,Coffee Maker,Video cassette recorder,Stereo,Clock radios the list just goes on and on. I like to keep all the instructions piled in one place in a drawer so if I do need to reset the timers the information is handy should I need it.

I pretty much know how to easily reset most everything in my apartment, pismeof, but I have not gotten used to the new stereo system yet. I will just have to take my time and go through that portion of the manual carefully once more.

I don't really have anything too complicated to reprogram. And I have one alarm on battery so a power outage doesn't affect me getting up on time.

I've heard of a lot of the downright nasty weather that's been going on all over the place especially like in the mid-west, and all the tornadoes going on and how everyone is having power outages...your area was affected too, no? That does aggravate me if I have to reset my electronics...when the electricians came a few Saturdays ago and we had our power out from 7 in the morning until about 3:30 p.m. don't ask all the things I had to reset once the power was on...but I learned long time ago to keep all the manuals in one place...Just in case...LOL My pet peeve is resetting my stereo clock too, even with the manual..hehee

I hate power outages. Luckly we hardly get them since we live in a new neigborhood where the power lines are underground. The only time that we actually get them is when there doing road and sometimes we loose power for a few min to a few hours and it usally happens during the day time. The only time we lost it at night is when I was a kid god I hated it. Plus I got really far on a game and forgot to save it lol which made me pissed. But its very boting when there are power outages not much to do except play games on your computer or read depending on how light it is.

This is one of the reasons I'm not looking forward to snow storms this winter. It seems every time we have one our power goes out. I hate waking up and everything is blinking or not working. I've done the same thing thinking I did something wrong when all the time it was the power and not me...lol...

We also get the occasional snow or ice storm, ctry. These things always wreak havoc on everything electrical.

Power outages are really annoying, it makes you realize how important to your life is the computer, tv, and such during long hours without electricity. We don't have to reset all our clocks except one in the master's bedroom, because all our clocks are battery-operated. But one problem you get with battery operated clocks is that when the battery power runs out and you did not notice, you will feel that you have more time to watch tv and set aside your work, then suddenly you'll realize it's not moving, then you'll scream (optional), and cram, cram, and cram. Thanks for sharing!

No but they would if I had a number of clocks to reset. I hate so much setting digital clocks that I only have one on my microwave. when we have a power failure, its pretty simple to reset.

Its not just clock resets, the stereo memory goes out. The TV forgets the channels and other info depending on when it was built. My phone clock however keeps an internal clock for several hours. Overall its annoying, but as long as nothing is damaged I'm cool.
