Songs From Early School Days?

I have this uncanny knack for remembering things like songs from as far back as my first year of school. Sometimes I will be doing something and one will suddenly pop into my head. One of my favorites was a song called, "A Frog Went A-courting." I used to love that song so much. I could think of many more, but I just wondered if any of you have these type memories. It seems that I have a better long-term memory than short-term.

It's easy for me because I love the 80s and its more or less the music I play on my Ipod or at home, and as I was at school for the majority of the 80s then I am forever remembering and singing and listening to songs from as far back as my school years. although my school years weren't the happiest in my life the music certainly was!

I liked that song, but I think I learned it from Captain Kangaroo. I sang it to my daughter, and I always called her "Miss Mousy" ( he rode til he came to Miss Mousy's Hall). I always remembered learning a song called "The Ash Tree" and was thrilled to find it in a book of old songs. Yes, things pop out at the strangest times.

I usually have better long term memory too but can't come up with a song from first grade...but that was many many years ago! LOl I do however find myself singing songs from the video called the Veggie Tales....I bought them for my granddaughter....If you like to talk to tomatoes....people think I am nuts!

I am 52 now and I can still remember most of the songs that we are singing during my elementary years, like, Row row your boat, Little Peter Rabbit, Mouse went Up the Clock, Home on the Range, Edelweiss, Kookabura, Ten Little Indians, the Alphabet Song.

Oh God, there are so many I remember. We used to sing the ever famous 500 miles, then Rivers of Babylon, Susannah, Edelweiss, Do Re Me, Brown Girl and so many others like This old man and many others. I always carry those memories and miss them a lot.
