Whats the Deal With Purple Houses??

No, there aren't any purple houses around here...but I have seen some garrish colours at places that I have visited. Maybe they like to stand out in the crowd. Did you check if they make purple pudding too? You should try and visit them once to see if everything is purple inside too (I'm sure it will be!). Maybe the families in each town (with the purple house) are related? You really must be doing a research on this one...it's interesting...lol and be sure to let me know the details! i guess you have to heard them into there purple garage and lock them up forever so you can spray paint the house white! how will you get them in the garage? open the garage door, put a pot of purple paint inside and point at the paint and shout INDIGO! and they will all run in. shut that door quick!

I live in a mobile home,and it is purple. it was painted this way when I bought it,and just like the colour,it is also handy when giving people directions to my place,I just tell them to drive around till they see the purple trailer and they find me.

Nope no purple houses here...although I'd be the one to do it if there was lol! I'd at least pick a nice shade of lavendar though. There is an ugly pink house in a nearby town though and it has a purple door. I don't have a photo but the pink is along the same "color family" as that purple if you understand what I mean by that and it has a darker pink trip and then the bright purple door.

Hey-- how did you get that picture of my house?!? Kidding- really no, there are no purple houses around me, at least not that I can think of, but there is one that is really bright pink, and one that looks like a Candyland board. It has more colors than a box of crayons. I always wonder when I drive by that house what those people were thinking. It is not like an addition was put on and different siding used, it is a very meticulous paint job with windows trimmed with 2 or 3 stripes of different colors, and then another color for the door and door trim, it is just silly looking. Looks like something a child would do in a coloring book.

I have not seen any purple houses where I live. There are lots of pink stucco houses because I am currently in Arizona. I think the house in that picture looks nice. I like that shade of purple. I'm just weird I guess, lol.

We do have one. It is funny that you mentioned it. I was voted the most improved in the town. I am not sure who did the voting, but they must need glasses. It does stand out, that is for sure.

Best for you if you forget about the purple houses and don't go snooping round them all the best urban dekay

haha thats funny.I don't know if there is one here in my small town or not,i have not seen one but you can be sure that i will be looking now that you have made me aware..Lol.. There is a purple house in my town. It kind of looks like the one in your photo. I love the color purple, it's my favorite color but not on my house or my garage. lol. I always wondered what were those people thinking.

Frankly, purple is not a color that I am very interested. However, I look at the photo you attached. The house is very nice, maybe it is just extraordinary:) I haven't seen a purple house yet.

my mother in law's place is hedious.. it's a maroon color with pink. But then again, there's so called documented proof that she's a nut bag.

Hot Pink, Purple, Day-Glow Yellow I have seen all of them as house colors. You know what, if that is the worse thing a neighbor does then it is not a problem. It is a nice spring like color, if it was the same shade but blue, no one would notice it. Personally, I like it...but I a weird ...I have pink flamingoes in my yard too.

It's not just the smaller towns. I live in the suburbs of a larger metropolitan are. And I know of two purple houses. 1 of them is two blocks from my house. Guess it's more of a Magenta!Gives ne meaning to Princes purple rain! Ick, glad to know we are not alone.

No purple houses, but some people down the road recently paint their school bus yellow. I'm thinking of sneaking there in the middle of the night and plastering a stop sign on the side of it.

My mother loved bright colors. She was a depression baby and got a lot of hand me downs from older relatives in black, brown and gray. She had our house painted pink. Not really pink, more like an awful salmon color. Anyway, when the next door neighbor saw it, she was heard to remark "what next, a purple house with an orange door?"
