Do You Vacuum In Your Sunday Best?

My mom is the cutest 70-year-old ever! She was happily singing along the other day while doing chores when I noticed she was wearing high heels, a satin black skirt, a beautiful dressy shirt with a scarf wrapped loosely around her neck. Yeah, that's how I vacuum, wash the dishes and clean out the fireplace. LOL. Maybe we all should get dressed up for the occasion, after all she sure looked happy.

Wow, 70 and wearing high heels? She must be in great shape.. From a dance injury, I can't wear high heels too long, let alone doing work in them. Though I have done minor chores dressed up, but instead of high heels, more than likely I am bare footed..lol

Mom still jogs for a half hour a day and does her stretching exercises. It's cute to watch her. Me, I do my chores in my pajamas and socks. Do you still dance? That would be so sad to give up altogether.

Well the injury is like this. I could opt for surgery which may make that area numb, which isn't good for feeling the dance for certain steps, or wear soft sole shoes. I opted for the latter, because I dance in ballet shoes, which are soft soled, and I don't have problems..:) The pain happens if I dance barefoot or wearing sneakers or any dress shoes..Though I can still walk barefooted, I can't do any jumping/running/hopping on that foot. So it hasn't stopped me, in fact in Jan. I will be teaching again..:)

Now this is really a cute story. I rarely dress up and can't sing worth 2 cents. Thanks for sharing this happy story. Merry Christmas.

I really do keep intending to get myself a "work uniform", maybe then other people would consider it a job. Something fun would be nice though but I think everyone would think I'd finally gone over the edge if I did something like that. Hmm maybe that's not a bad idea...lol Ok so next time I vacuum I'll put on my hot pink wig, my wedge sneakers, my pink hoodie wrap and black leggings and of course my pink sunglasses...all from Halloween by the way. That should be fun...if I had money I'd be eccentric but instead I'm just odd and that's fine by me too.

I love it! You need to take a picture and post it right here. The pink hoodie wrap sounds very interesting.

Hello dear gtargirl. I think that your mom must be very happy doing the household chores in her Sunday best while she was singing. I am glad to know that she is so positive and in the very good mood to do the vacuuming job as well as other jobs at home. She is enjoying happily her life. May your mom be always happy and healthy. Merry Christmas.

I think sometimes it just is nice to get dressed up once in a while. I don't think i ever would just to do chores. But sometimes I wish I had a reason to wear the nice clothes I have. I don't have a job that requires it nor have I any place to go where I should dress up so it's like... i just dress normal. But once in a while dressing up is a nice thing to do.

You are right, it,s cute :P But I don't think I would do that. When I clean, most of the time I'M still in pyjamas, or sometimes I do it after work. I will not dress my best for doing that lol This is not a special occasion for me lol

I vacuum in my regular weekday clothes, sweater and slacks and socks in the winter, t shirt and shorts in the winter. Since I do not vacuum on Sunday and since I do not have a lot of good outfits, I would not dare. Your mother must have a closetful of Sunday best or she was expecting company and she wanted the house to be clean.

I vacuum in whatever I happen to be wearing when I decide to do it. Usually shorts and a t-shirt. Maybe dressing up nice to do housework makes them seem less like chores to her. I bet that had to be funny to see though.

Is your name June Cleaver? No, I put on my tshirt with the bleach spots and holes in it along with a ratty pair of jeans and pull my hair back when I do housework. I don't know how or why people do that, when I clean I feel like I am getting dirty, so I wear rags and shower when I am done.
