Have you ever travelled by Greyhound bus?

I take the bus a lot, because I don't own my own vehicle and my family lives several hours away. I've taken a Greyhound 3 times in the month of December alone! This last time was going home for Christmas with the family and the silly people at Greyhound lost my parcel with ALL my Christmas presents for family and friends in it! I was so mad, and stressed out. We finally found it on Christmas Eve, but I had to drive almost 45 minutes away to get it in time for Christmas. The way home wasn't nearly as eventful, except for some strange guy who sat beside me and told me his entire life story in the first 5 minutes of sitting down. All I asked was if the seat was free!!! So, ever travelled on the Greyhound bus? Any strange experiences on the bus? Did they ever lose your luggage?

I've done a lot of traveling by Greyhound bus and have dragged my mother and son along with me...lol....I've been from Boston to CA by greyhound and actually enjoyed the trip. I also went from Boston to Louisiana a long time ago and I was 8 months pregnant at the time. It's always a great experience and wonderful way to see the country.

Ahh the bus, what strange times indeed. I am the person on the bus that people feel the need to sit beside and talk too. Usually this doesn't bother me and it makes the time pass but sometimes you just want to stare out the window and reflect on life. I once took the bus alone from California up to Seattle and made a friend on the trip. You never know what adventures the greyhound can lead you on.

I took a Greyhound bus on a trip in California. It was a Bank Holiday and the local bus company was not working so it was challenging getting to the bus station. I prefer traveling by Amtrak the train system. I am so sorry to hear about Greyhound losing your luggage. It was lucky that it was found on Christmas Eve. You would have had to replace all the lost Christmas presents. That would have been very unfair not to mention expensive. The guy was probably lonely and you must have wondered why he said so very much instead of saying that the seat is free and making polite conversation about the journey. I wish you better traveling experiences in the future without any lost baggage.

I miss the days when I had the time and money to "go Greyhound"! It was my myLot long before myLot was even thought of. I've met people from around the world on my excursions with G/H, as well as fellow Americans from different parts of this great land. It was always a rewarding experience for me. From the conversations that I had, learning about places other, to the scenery that can only be experienced as a passenger. The station lay-overs allowed me a brief acquaintance with a new town and yet another chance for another souvenir. And the drone of the Detroit Diesel 8-V 71 in the back, was the perfect sleeping aid for a gearhead like me. I learned how to play backgammon from a lady who was tired of losing to her friend that she just had taught. Then, after a couple of practice games, I won the second game we played. Not her day. And some of the most beautiful, harmonic singing that I have ever heard still to date, was from 2 gals on tour from Sweden and one from Finland. It was every bit as good as any professional Aria singer, yet they weren't even studying music. Goin' Greyhound brought lots of happy, new experiences to me! I'm very glad I had the chance in my youth to travel with them. Just wish I had the time to do so again.

I took Peter Pan two weekends ago. A friend and I traveled to New York City to see the Christmas windows, decorations, and lights. It was a great weekend, but the bus trip can be much longer than driving. I was so glad to avoid being the driver in all the traffic though. Driving takes a little over 3 1/2 hours from where I live, the bus was closer to 5. But I would do it again in a heartbeat. I hate driving in traffic. I arrived in the city ready to sitesee. My very favorite way to travel though, is by train. I took the Sunset Limited Amatrak once and can't wait to do it again. I loved that I could plug my laptop in and watch movies, get up and walk around, and go to the dining car for snacks, coffee, even a meal.

I have traveled by Greyhound bus and it really is not that bad. I have never experienced anything too scary or crazy. I met someone who was very friendly and a pleasure to talk to during one of my rides; and I can't say they lost any of my belongings. During my experiences taking Grehound; I have always found it to be a safe cost effective way to travel. Happy Trails.

I have traveled by bus. It has been some years ago though. My son flew me to Colorado springs one mother's because I had always wanted to fly and he was stationed there in Colorado Springs. I returned by bus but don't remember much about it except that they seemed to stop at every little rinky-dink town along the way. When I was 14 I took the bus to denver to spand the summer with my great grandmother. A girl on the bus said something about my accent and that hurt my feelings becuse I didn't think that I had a accent. When I was 8 I and my little brother went to California by bus. The only thing I remember was that I thought we never get there. It took 3 days.

I used to tak the bus all the time and let me tell you they have usually been nightmares LOL Bus trips for me are usually abotu 15-18 hours long. The first awful trip we ended up with a flat tire and then in a ditch because the ice was so bad. and another we got stuck in Revelstoke because there had been an avalanche on both ends of the highway we were literally stuck. We ended up getting a hotel room and didn't leave til about 3pm the next day. The snow was upto our knees and trucks couldn't dirve in the streets it was so bad NEVER againwill I take the bus. They have never lost my packages or luggage thankfully I would shoot them if they did. well not shoot them but ya know what I mean LOL
