The advantages and disadvantages of having internet at home.

well you just about summed it all up in a nut shell.great points there my friend,i agree with you on them.

Some of the advantages that I think about having your internet connection at home: (they are pretty much the same with what you mentioned) 1. Easily access to the net at the convenience of your own house. No need to pay at cafe or computer shops. 2. Unlike computer shops that are strict often when it comes to food and beverages, I too can bring my own meal while doing something with the computer. 3. We could also take as much time as we want with an internet connection at home. 4. Depending on the space available, I can download anything that I want from the net. Most of the disadvantages I experience on having an internet connection at home: 1. Instead of doing morning stretches after waking up, I immediately go infront of the computer to check on things. 2. I end up spending so much time that I don't particulalry do any physical activity. 3. It becomes a habit that whenever it gets cut-off, the vexing feelings take over and I seldom take it out on the customer assistant operators. 4.

i agree to the advantages you have mentioned but the disadvantage for me is my kids constantly want to watch their movies or rhymes which leaves me ver little time for mylotting..

Hi, I without internet this question cannot be answered by me like this not only this I hope more of advantages are in internet. As the advancement goes up these advantages are well used and may be there are disadvantages too but if not properly handled.Any how for me internet is full of advantages as I am here responding to this topic.

haha.. All your disadvantages are my advantages because my bro will be using the pc to do his work most of the time and so i can only get to use it either in mid day ot middle of the night while everybody is sleeping.. in this way, i wun get nag at and i wun be eating while surfing too.. LOL ^_^ i wun get to miss my favourite shows but i will miss out on chatting with u here and responding to discussions here :( LOL

The internet must never be home, it could cost your marriage if you are a married person, why? because it takes most of your attention away from people around you and that is obviously an anti-social attribute of the net!

I think you are quite right. Most of the things as adnvantages and disadvantages are same in my case as well. But there are some additional disadvantages. Its like I do consume a lot of electricity. I am also damaging my eyes more and more.

I always wants to have a computer and internet at home so I can do a lot of things and earn an extra income but my budget is tight. I need to save more money from the internet so I can buy a computer and have an internet in our house than use my office internet during extra office hours.

advantages - you can go online anytime.. disadvantages - i don't get to rest..

I've had a home internet connection for over twenty years. The first internet cafe I went to was just six years ago when I went to Fiji.

i am the same the advantages are great.i definately neglect my chores,you should see my house.but i am addicted.the only time i am not on the computer of late is when i have been sick,like the last couple of days.i have also developed a square bottom from sitting on it too long.cheers sue

Well I like internet and this unlimited connection is really cool because I can have my computer on for 24h a day and I can download whatever I want and I can write on myLot as much as I can but then I just can't stop.

Hi hun, How are you doing? I can relate to all the advantages you have stated above and as for the disadvantages I can say that there is no TIME OUT. I can go on and on and on without any break and hindrance. And this is affecting my health highly and not to forget the social life that I am refraining from giving lame escuses. Thanks.

For me I don't spend as much time with my daughter or husband if I am on the internet and its addictive all bad for you. Positive is I can find auditions and competitions easier and also make new friends and keep old ones. I also make a little money on the internet from sites like this.

i'm a mother and my daughter is too young to surf net but i can see the future and got some lines to use ,lol. so for me only advantages no disadvantages.lol

Well, the pros: 1.I can look up any information I want as things do pop up in my mind when I am cooking etc. 2.I find loads of information which is so accessible.the internet is really a boon for those looking for information. 3.I log on when I am finished with chores,sometimes when I am unable to sleep as well. 4.I can listen to songs while surfing the net. Cons: 1.Like you,I tend to delay my chores forever.so I have to resort to a kind of self restraint so that I finish my chores. 2.I mostly look up recipes for cakes etc so I get confused a lot since there are thousnads of them on the net. 3.I do tire my eyes out and my husband has to forcobly take the computer away from me so that I don't hurt my eyes. That is it for now:)

That is fun my friend. I dont internet connection at home, and even i want to get an internet service i cant, for im not paying the electric bill. :-( it would be a big fight from my elder sister. so i have to be contented surfing the net at my office. but of course the advantage is,, surfing is free but limited and when someone wants to use the internet i have to give way to others to use the computer. since theres only one pc in our division that has internet connection. ;-)

Advantage, when I was sick, I could still do internet, doesn't take much energy. Disadvantage, when I was sick, I didn't do housework and now my dishes are really backed up. Advantage, can be done any time of the day or night. Disadvantage, I go too late, but not late enought for electric savings program, then get up too late to use the electric savings program. So now that I'm better, I will be trying to catch up on everything using electrical savings time. Take care
