My Darling Gabbie sent me this message this AM. "Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably...
Never regret anything that made you smile."
About 6 months ago I had discovered that my Husband of 28 yrs in March had been having an affair for over 13 years and many other indiscresions. I had no idea. I hurt so much that some days it hurt to take a breath. My children and grandchildren were hurt also. Our world was turned upside down..The thing that got me through on days when I wanted to lay down and die was my friends ..many of which are here on mylot. The steady stream of emails, virtural hugs and kisses, the calls from Scotland from my Mylot daughter Mo, the voice chats with Wee, Fishwife, Gabs...There are other also too many to mention that carried me through..
What gets you through the hard times?

Oh Mom - we know you have been through so much heartache and all we want is for you to come out the other end of the tunnel and realise how special you are and how loved you are! I guess my friends and family are the ones that get me through the hard times-I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful people around me and you are extra special. Hugs and love xxx

And it goes without saying that I think the world of you too sweetheart, after all if I didn't have friends like you I'd still be in a mess, I too am truly blessed to have so many wonderful people to support, love and advice me, in actual fact I am lucky to have a sister in you xxx

I have 3 precious grown children, one is a beautiful daughter, Kathi. We have such a wonderful relationship. When I am down and feel like giving up, she always says the sweetest things to make me laugh and cheers me up. My oldest son Randy is my spiritual advisor. He is so full of the Spirit of God, he always makes me see things the way God intends for me to see them. I too have been through a very heartbreaking marriage over 25 years ago and if it hadn't been for my children, I would have given up totally. I also began searching the Word of God for some guidance, and found peace that none other can give. These are the things that get me through in hard times.

We are like two peas in a pod aren't we sweetheart? You know I went through a bad time too, although on the face it not as bad as you I feel. I also had some wonderful friends, love and support and some sound advice, to be honest, if I didn't have the support and love I wouldn't of had the strength and bravery to escape my mentally abusive relationship. Now 16 weeks on, not that I'm counting I am a much happier, saner man. I owe a lot to my lovely friends here on Mylot. I appreciate that always will. You sure know who your true friends are don't you sweetheart!

yep you do - and see how our 'band of friendship' works for so many of us. That is what makes this site so special - I will never forget (or lose touch) with special new faily and friends. Love you little brother and give thanks for having you in my life! xxx

Children children..Can seem to keep you two apart..lol
It is wonderful for me to see how support started with on strand of the web and keeps weaving until we are all securely above the sea of hurt,depression,dispare..We all sit snuggled comfy together swinging in our web hammock just smiling in the sun......Nice thought,no?

Like you Raydene my Friends my Children and my Boyfriend
I alo have to many to mention but you all know who you are and you know Sweetie that you are one of them
The other little Special Devil who is my little World is Gissi and he has got me through a lot
Yes he might be a dog but you could not ask for a more caring and loving Dog who always knows when I need him
Raydene you have been through a bad Time and I am so glad that you got through it and you will also always be special to me and you always know how to get hold of me
I love you dearly and you are always in my thoughts
I knew you would get through it and do you know why? Because I got through the last 6 years and you are stronger then me and you are very loved

I am like you, it is my firends, especially my internet friends that have helped me through the hard times, I am so thankful that I have these angels as well

I was gone for 7 months, trying to make money right now I am in between assignments so I decided to come back and I am so touched by all the people who still remember me here. It is so nice to know that people like me.

I've heard that saying before and it's really soooo right! I can't imagine going through what you are and could go on about men and the things they do but I'll spare you. I have to say that it's my kids who got me through the pain of losing my mom this month. If it wasn't for them I don't know what I would have done. Even now 3 weeks later they are calling me and coming over to spend time with me. I honestly think this experience has scared them...lol. They have both changed 100% and I'm loving it.

Faith gets us through. And the fact that our friends have faith in us as well. There is a saying, Friends know the words to the song in your heart, and sing it back to you when you forget the words. Aren't they great? Friends, faith, love, care, concern.

Gaby may not know it, but she is a tower of strength to a lot of us here, and I know that your two have a very special friendship. The value of a true friend is priceless, one with a hearing ear - that's what helps me to get through bad times. Also my little dogs - they are worth their weight in gold, and are a great comfort to me when I'm down.
You have come through a terrible time Raydene and we are all so proud of you here, because it's been so hard for you - but you will be stronger for it!

Let me start off by sending a great big hug your way. I haven't logged on to mylot much lately. What gets me through the hard times is pretty much like you the love and strong support I get from family and friends. Wether it be here in mylot for online or another chat forum. I also have wonderful friends that I see and talk to daily. Hugzzz to you.. Also I try to think positive and keep my chin up and think of the next day hoping to be better then the first day.

Yes being positive has an aweful lot to do with how you get by. I am doing very well and finding my way..kind of like being thrown in pitch darkness but as I struggled forward my eyes go used to the dark and now as I get closer to the other side I can see daylight..
