Opinion, I do not care who is offended by this, if you get this deleted I need to get it out of my System
I have a lot of good Friends here
Friends that do great Discussions, that used to empty their hearts and Minds out to each other and we used to help each other
Now more and more People are doing Discussions about Politics News Links
I am sad to see this as we used to have a laugh a cry and support each other
Now the reason for this Change?
Trolls going about getting Discussions deleted because they don't like them
Birthday wishes Anniversary wishes Happy occasion Wishes being deleted
I have one question and I really really hope that at least one of you Trolls have the face to tell me
Because let me say something, you get the Discussions deleted and you are hiding behind the fact of it not being said who reported this so you are a coward really, you think it is fun getting Discussions deleted upsetting good Members and Members that have been here from nearly Day 1
A lot of Friends have left here, a lot of Friends Friends have left here and why????
Because there are Members here that are turning the Site into a political and religious Site, so why not stay on your Side and we will stay on ours because it looks like this is what is happening here
Sorry if this offends anyone but I just had to get this of my Chest
I just wish that I could have all my Care free Friends back I wish I could be care free on here again but I know that will never happen because we are all very careful now what we post about "in case" it is not acceptable for certain Members here
Ok that is it of my Chest
Your opinion is welcome on this I know my Friends will not be rude to me so please if anyone out of my Friends Circle disagrees , disagree nicely

I haven't come across any discussions that are political or religious in nature...maybe that's because I stick to a few select friends...and then check a random few from top discussions and don't bother with anything that doesn't interest me (which includes political and religious discussions).
But I've seen some posts being deleted for no valid reasons...and other similar discussions are doing the rounds. I don't think that is fair...either have a proper rule where everyone knows what the rule is and anyone who violates it gets their discussion deleted....or not bother deleting anyone's...mylotters will choose who they want to respond to...you can't force anyone to respond to one-liners if they don't want to.

Do you mean the ones that have links and the one referring to NEWS?
I usually don't bother with those...because the few that I read didn't have relevant discussion topics. It was just some crazy news and 'what do you think'? I thought the same as everyone else and didn't think I could get anything across.

Gabs I am one of your longtime friends but I do have to disagree with you. If I do not like the topic then I don't read it. This is an open forum and one has the freedom of choice to post on what ever subject you want. If a member only wants to read topics that interest them then they have that choice. I am very glad that at this highly important (to me) political time in the U.S. I can see very interesting postings on this topic.

I also know that if it does not interest you then you go past it which is what I am saying
But there are Friends here of mine that never used to put in about Politics and that and now they do because they know it is safe
As they have said to me they have changed their way of Posting and they can't go wrong then
You and me have been Friends from the start yes even though we both have different Interest we have always got on and we are always there for each other and that means a lot
And the best thing we are open with each other without being nasty horrible and evil and that is what it is about

I forgot to add that as having had a lot of experience here being attacked by trolls all we can do is report them if we find out who they are. There are trolls on every forum. Sadly these people are mean spirited, have no life so try to get their kicks by making other people miserable. I have lost many points by having my discussions deleted and my star tumbled down due to underhanded people destroying my reputation. Now I just ignore them as I will not give them the pleasure of thinking they had annoyed me.

I'm glad to see you ranting here gabs. I think many of us are getting a bit fed up with the trolls and how we can no longer have the discussions we used to have. People seem to forget that a site like this may be the only way to be in contact with friends...not all want to share their private emails or rely on the PM system here. So the only way we here can be connected and know what's going on in our friends lives is here...to share our joys, our triumphs, our fears....not all of us are interested in talking politics or religion although I have done just a smattering of that type but I don't make it my all one thing to discuss like some do--cause to be honest I'm just plain not interested.

Well Pye you inspired me and a Members B wish being deleted just totally did it as there is no harm at all in that sort of Discussion
I am fed up with the pathetic People that have such a sad Life that they have to terrorize my good Friends here

well i guess i agree b/c the other day i got a discussion deleted and i dont know why, it was about going into the past and where would you want to go to, and it said something about would you want to go be with the pagans or celts or the relitivley new christian religion. would you want ot be in rome and yada yada, but it got deleted and i liked that discussion. I do like the politics but i rarley go talk about them here. Is that why it got deleted b/c someone didnt like what i said. thats stupid

I'm sorry for your unhappiness in My Lot. I am new to the site and I like that I can comment on politics, religion, etc. Maybe if you want to chat and have discussions with friends you shoudl try Facebook or myspace.

Hi Davis no that is not what I am getting at as you are new here you will not know what I mean
You talk about what ever you want I am on about People on here that are trying to turn everyone to their way of thinking
I am not bothered who posts what but for People to be forced to post things that they really do not want to just because People are getting every Day discussions deleted is not right

Well, Gaby, most days and most discussions you will see me here being nice, because it does make me feel good to help and to make real contact with human beings. I like to laugh, and sometimes cry. I will post what I like, and if someone gets me deleted, I am not going to take offense, it is a waste of my energy and tears. I am sorry that sometimes it seems that one member or another is getting picked on. You would think that this site was big enough for all of us to have our say, wouldn't you. I have not read the responses yet, hope they were all nice.

Oh well, considering the number of discussions against your name, you (I believe) are one of the few who have been with this site right from the beginning and have stuck on. Being a relatively new member when considered to you, I would say that I enjoy the enormous variety of discussions on mylot and religious debate remains one of my favourite topics. So I am guilty too on that account but it is also true that inspite of having so many ‘friends’ here, I have not really bonded with anybody personally. So I understand your frustration but cannot feel it per se. but yes, I welcome your right to vent too. After all, whenever we are frustrated with anything in life, we turn to our friends and who else (no matter how few of them are remaining).

Thank you for your Input yes I have seen a drastic Change here
And I really do not mind religious or any Discussions I will go past them
I believe in god but I believe my way so I do not input on them as I do not on politics cause I see enough on the news but it is sad that my good Friends here are now posting different in fear to some Troll coming along and deleting their Discussions because they do not like it
Like yourself you enjoy them Discussions and that is great but when you see a different that you do not want to respond to you go past it not have it deleted

hon, have you tried www.gather.com, I love that place and we still have a group of friends there that care about people and will go out of their way to support and help them, come on and join if you haven't already.

It took me a long while to begin to warm up to Gather, but you are right, it is fun. Lots of former myLotters. I still like it here, as well. Tastes are different. I am not very good at looking around at Gather, for instance, Rose, How would I find you. I am Heather E. if you look for me. I have people requesting friendship now and then, and just like here, I accept them all.

i have been with gather about 2 years now, and they are such wonderful people, I run a birthday club as one of the groups for example.
I also run a prayer group, where people pray for each other in need,
and some have helped me out in a bad situation,
sorry you didn't have the same experience.

Hi gabs I know what you mean. Thats the reason Ive been staying silent lately. The trolls have made mylot undiserable lately. I really wish they would leave but we know thats not going to happen. Im certainly with you on this discussion I dont want to hear about politics or religion. I use to be carefree when I first joined mylot but not anymore. Mylot just isnt the same. And thats so very sad. Hugs! The one good thing I got out of mylot was getting you as a friend. Love you

Definitely, looking on the positives, hey if I hadn't of found Mylot I wouldn't have had the pleasure of knowing some lovely true, honest, loving people and secondly I don't think in all honesty I would have had the strength to walk out of my relationship, for the support, advice and love I got so for that I am truly thankful. Friends are what matter on this site and I think I speak for all of us on that score xxxx

Oh yes Wolfie Sweet,I totally agree with you there that is one good thing that has come from this Site and I will always be grateful for that and grateful that most of my Friends are on the other 2 Sites as well that I am on
And we are all still close but we are scared and worried what to post
Terry Sweet I feel the same and I have noticed that you are quiet but so are a lot of our Friends now and when they do some Troll gets it deleted

I understand completely and agree. Mylot has changed to the point that I post very few discussions - why put the work into a quality discussion when it's just going to get deleted. I also don't put as much of my heart into responses for the same reason.
I think there needs to be more investigation before a discussion is deleted rather than it being done on the say so of one person.

Yes I agree with you Faith my Heart is not in it here that much either I prefer and love the other 2 I am with yes you get Trolls there but do you know all you do is delete them and thats it
Only your Friends can send you messages and post on your Profile and if the Trolls start there to play up you can set it that only your Friends can view your Profile
And I am sorry but here it is left so open for the trolls to attack
As for the Deletions of Discussions yes I agree

Keymandon please carry on talking about what you want to talk about as you are not hurting any one
What I am getting at is that there are Members here that get Discussions deleted because they don't like the Person so People are now fear posting the way they used to
So please carry on posting what you know about you are not doing any harm
And no you are not aloud to post links and I am sorry that someone got your Discussion deleted for that

I know I've seen several discussions deleted for no reason that I could see but then one of mine got deleted - there was no reason at all for that except the fact that someone responded and I made the mistake of mentioning the fact that they did not respond to the discussion - zip my whole discussion was gone.

I haven't been on here much in the last six months or so for these same reasons. I have seen a lot of friends disappear because they didn't like having there discussions deleted and there was no reason for them to be deleted. I think the only reason for a discussion to be deleted is vulgar language but they seem to delete everything someone complains about. I blame mylot itself as much as the trolls because they should at least check out the discussions. Everybody is going to have there opinions, thats what move the world around, but to complain about thing just because you dont like what they say is beyond ridiculous.

Twin dear, I"m with you regarding trolls, although I have to confess that I have been safe from them so far - which doesn't mean much, it can start anything for any reason -.
As for subjects I don't really have a problem with them. If they don't interest me I don't respond. I'm ok with any topics because I know I have the option to tun in or out.
That said I think people are now trying to stay within safe subjects and that certainly seems to be the result of all the trolling going around.
I Liked the more personal friendly posts, but I can understand why in a site like myLot they might not be completely encouraged. THe thing is that they still happened and they helped us feel closer to each other and know each other just a bit better. That was positive because if we felt good here we would be more active and post about other things as well and I think that was why myLot allowed it.. until the trolls came.
I still enjoy it here. I guess because I can still find discussions that interest me and people I like to hear from. THe rest.... I just tune out :)

hi gabs. long time no see. hehe. as you know, i have been busy. dont get on here much. but i know where your coming from. things just arent the same. i would much prefer our more personal discussions, where our feelings can be aired and our caring friends giving much needed support. also hearing about day to day things going on, and the highs and lows of life. the political and news things dont interest me.

I'm becoming more aware of the problem. I just read a response to MY response on a discussion (not political or religious) and was absolutely blindsided by the mean spirited words. A long while ago there was a lot of meanness going on, but I thought we were past that. I know it can't be just one person, but man, whoever is deletion happy and plain mean happy, have sure spread the influence.

Hey, hey,hey, my other favourite blonde! I wasn't on here very much I had a lot of things on my plate, so I would only spend maybe a couple of minutes or so then go and sleep. Anyway, I am with you regarding missing those light and carefree discussions on myLot. For me, posting and responding here is very relaxing. I enjoy reading about Gissi and laughing at his antics, I love hearing about your visits to the kids--it's like being there. I like thoughtful discussions too, but I can't be bothered to argue. I have to admit that I do not feel I can't say what I want to but that is probably because I have been away for a while and had no deletions or such problems! I know that sometimes I used to feel as though I had to think about every single word I typed and would worry about things seeming offensive even when they weren't! xxx

i agree my dear. i haven't been on in a long time. cuz all i see are what you mentioned. i can only comment so much on news issues, and politics. i WANT to hear what's going on in people's lives here on mylot, their personal struggles, personal goals, triumphs, that was the fun of this place. we could vent and help each other, pat each other on the backs, or shout out congrats. thank you for posting this, and we'll watch and see if it gets deleted, BUT you are speaking from your heart. and mylot does not tell us that we only have to talk about certain things, so why do the heartfelt ones get deleted? aggravating, and irritating.

What you're talking about is about the most accurate description of the WORLD. It is SO SAD when someone has SO much fear and/or hatred inside of them as well as insecurity- in such great length- that a simple OPINION poses some sort of threat to something in there existence. I LOVE hearing others opinions. It helps me grow as a person, as a Minister, as a Mom and mostly, as a HUMAN BEING. I smile when not so nice things are said or done- you just gotta feel sorry for someone that lacks that much life to limit theirs so greatly. It's ironic - the very essence of deleting opinions is also an infringement on what the USA stands for - and that's FREEDOM OF SPEECH. Of course I'm not talking about illicit subjects - just "stuff". Be happy in knowing that only the STRONG remain- it's kind of like a REAL friend - no matter what you know they are still standing there! Some just debate because they are miserable and it's their nature- what a shame. How can we learn anything if we never stop talking long enough to listen.
